The Center for Rural Health Research at ETSU’s College of Public Health seeks a Research Faculty Member to lead data visualization efforts that advance our understanding of rural health issues.As a Data Visualization Research Faculty, you will design and execute quantitative research studies to address important rural health questions. You will analyze complex datasets and translate statistical findings into compelling data visualizations and dashboards.This is an excellent opportunity to leverage your quantitative and technical skills to advance research and understanding of rural populations through innovative data storytelling. Join our team in making a difference for rural communities.Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesAbility to produce products with Tableau visualization software, experience with other visualization software tools like QlikView, or D3 considered.Knowledge of statistical programs such as SPSS, STATA, R, or SAS.Knowledge of university policies and procedures.Ability to work independently and resolve diverse problems.Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff.Ability to plan, develop, and implement workshops and training programs for community partners.Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.Ability to direct the work of graduate students.Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain a high level of accuracy.Ability to maintain confidentiality.Knowledge of data management systems.Knowledge of Microsoft Excel.Required QualificationsDoctoral degree in Biostatistics, Public Health, Data Science or Geography.Demonstrated preparation of at least two online data dashboards and publication-ready visualizations.Preferred QualificationsSalary is commensurate with education and experience.Documents Needed To ApplyResumeCover LetterTranscriptsPortfolio (optional)East Tennessee State University is an AA/EEO employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, disability, veteran status, or age in its programs and activities.
