PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Demonstrates mastery of skills and extensive subject matter knowledge in carrying out assignments associated with the analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation, and proposed modification to specific technical and leadership training programs. Position may be required to work extended hours for coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

Analyzes and drives personnel performance and recommends training and non-training solutions for performance issues. Designs and develops learning solutions, coordinates with the line organization/business partners, and conducts performance-based technical training programs as required by training program descriptions and in accordance with the systematic approach to training process and department procedures. (35%)Prepares and conducts trainee evaluations for classroom, OJT, and simulator environments, as appropriate and recommends/develops discipline-specific training programs. (15%)Participates in support activities, i.e. root cause support (ACE, RCIs), line assessment support and management audits. (10%)Assures the training programs are maintained current and incorporates information gained from procedure changes and revisions, safety, human performance, new regulations, and training effectiveness reports. (10%)Analyzes training needs and designs/develops training for supervisors in accordance with the systematic approach to training process and department procedures. (10%)Support line organization in the areas of business initiatives, project management, EP duties, and special projects. (10%)Supervises the collection and maintenance of auditable training records and reports required to document training program activities. (10%)

JOB SCOPE

Responsible for course/program activities related to assigned subject matter area. Provides direction to trainees, subject matter experts, support personnel and vendors/contractors. Provides project leadership as assigned. Provides functional supervision in training environments in accordance with classroom management standards.Assists training management in establishing department goals, and cost estimates that result in budgeted activities for the assigned area including specific project or subject matter areas as assigned.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSBS/BA in education/training/instructional design or in lieu of a degree, 6-9 years of training experience.4-7 years of related industry experience and a minimum of 2 years of training/education/instructional design experienceExemplary teaching and group facilitation skills.Exemplary training material development skills.Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and writtenSuperior organizational skills including the ability to coordinate programs across a large organization

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSMaster's degree in education/training, organizational development, organizational psychology, instructional design, or businessExperience designing computer-based training modules and knowledge of e-learning software applications such as Articulate and CaptivateExpert level classroom facilitation skillsExperience working in teams from multiple organizations in accomplishing diverse tasks and assignmentsSuperior written and oral communication skillsKnowledge of and experience with the systematic approach to training (SAT)Experience with design thinking to improve the entire end-user experience utilizing emerging instructional technologies to offer the best learning experience.SPECIAL CERTIFICATION/ TECNICAL SKILLEducational Theory Knowledge:Understanding of various learning theories and instructional design models.Curriculum Development: Ability to design and develop comprehensive curricula that meet educational standards and learner needs.Needs Analysis: Skill in conducting needs assessments to identify gaps in knowledge and performance.Learning Objectives: Expertise in writing clear, measurable learning objectivesInstructional Strategies: Knowledge of diverse instructional strategies and methodologies.Content Development: Proficiency in creating engaging and effective learning materials and resources.PowerPoint: Advanced knowledge of PowerPoint and how to use it to create training presentations.Assessment Design: Ability to design formative and summative assessments to evaluate learner progress.Multimedia Skills: Proficiency in using multimedia tools and technologies for creating interactive learning experiences.E-Learning Platforms: Familiarity with various e-learning platforms and learning management systems (LMS).Project Management: Strong organizational and project management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.Graphic Design: Basic graphic design skills to create visually appealing instructional materials.Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders.Creativity: Creative thinking to develop innovative instructional solutions.Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data and feedback to continuously improve instructional materials.Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt instructional materials to different learning styles and environments.Research Skills: Proficiency in researching the latest trends and technologies in instructional design.Evaluation and Revision: Skill in evaluating and revising instructional materials based on learner feedback and assessment data.Primary Location
