The Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Michigan (GWSEMI) Graphic Designer/ Photographer reports directly to the Mission Engagement Manager and will be focused on lifestyle and GWSEMI event photography and then editing the photos to be delivered by specific deadlines. The Graphic Designer/Photographer will assist in the Branding and Marketing of GWSEMI as well as the Social Media Manager. You will be responsible for delivering images to use on various media outlets that GWSEMI uses to reach their expanding audience. Therefore, you will need to help with the development and creation of social media content.The Graphic Designer/Photographer will be responsible for delivering images that reflect proper branding for the business by being the primary in-house lifestyle photographer for GWSEMI. Your role is going to streamline the process of content creation in-house. The position requires the ability to understand the specific aesthetic of GWSEMI lifestyle photography and be able to elevate selected original images to exceed our standards.

As a Photographer, you will:Generate images from lifestyle photoshoots that are in line with the GWSEMI creative direction.Direct talent on location and work collaboratively with other team members.Create briefs for photoshoots.Manage workload to meet deadlines.Collaborate with in-house team members to create content that propels the brand forward.

As a Graphic Designer, you will:Create content for Social Media stories promoting GWSEMI in the Community.Oversee post-production retouching process.Perform color correction, compositing, masking, sharpening, resizing, and editing in multiple color profiles.Prepare, name, and file all images according to production processes.Collaborate with Brand Directors and Videographers to create photoshoots that are in line with the GWSEMI aesthetic.GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESUse current industry-standard software to create, design, layout, and produce a variety of informational and marketing materials for various audiences and support activities.Design, produce, and edit a wide variety of graphic design for print and digital formats, as well as photography production.Operate digital cameras and take photographs for publications, websites, and public relations materials.Attend a variety of district/campus functions to photograph assigned events.Produce cost estimates and timelines for graphic and multimedia projects.Prepare and maintain various records and files, including photo and graphic files.Assist in the creation and maintenance of professional graphic standards and print and electronic templates.May lead, direct, and train clerical and technical support.Perform related duties as assigned.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONSKnowledge:

All aspects of graphic design for print and digital formats, as well as photography production.Skills and Abilities:

Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Develop a concept and translate it to visual form. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Manage design projects from start to finish while maintaining a high level of quality. Meet deadlines. Plan and organize work. Prepare camera-ready artwork with printer's instructions.

Training and Experience:

A degree in graphic design or related field and two (2) years professional experience producing quality print and digital graphic design materials and photography. Affirmation of mastery in discipline by portfolio review required.
