The Digital Content & Services accounting team is seeking a Senior Accountant to support the accounting for its dynamic and fast growing digital businesses. This role will work across the broader Digital accounting team to lead management of various aspects of accounting month-end close, controllership initiatives, and new projects. The candidate will work closely with members of cross-functional teams to design, develop and deliver operationalization of complex accounting projects. The candidate will also have technical accounting experience in assessing the accounting treatment in accordance with Amazon Accounting Policy and US GAAP. This person will have operated successfully in a fast-paced, and results-oriented environment. Strong oral and written communication skills are crucial, as well as ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, scope business requirements and prioritize.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS3+ years of finance or a related analytical field experienceBachelor's degree in accounting or related fieldPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSExperience in accounting management in Big Four with Fortune 500 clients2+ years of Fortune 500 operational accounting experienceExperience researching and documenting support for accounting conclusionsCPAKnowledge of internal control framework (specifically COSO) to assess control design and operational efficiencyExperience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $60,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
