The information below covers the role requirements, expected candidate experience, and accompanying qualifications.As the Managing Director of Brand Marketing, you will take a leadership role within the BWH Hotels Marketing function, driving the portfolio positioning across our 18 brands and over 4,000 hotels worldwide. Based in Phoenix and reporting into the CMO, you will lead the development and execution of comprehensive brand marketing strategies, managing team and agency relationships, and overseeing the creation of compelling multi-channel campaigns that drive awareness, enhance brand perception and boost revenue and loyalty. Your expertise in enterprise-level content strategy and digital marketing will ensure consistency across all guest touchpoints.Essential Job ResponsibilitiesBrand Strategy Development:Oversee relationships with media, social, and creative agencies, ensuring collaboration and innovation.Guide agencies in developing research-based creative that resonates with target audiences.Ensure agency deliverables are timely, within budget, and aligned with BWH business goals.Agency and Team Management:Partner with media agencies to develop and refine strategies that leverage real-time tracking and in-market optimization.Identify and implement innovative media approaches that support brand positioning and business objectives.Media Strategy & PlanningWork closely with the media agency to develop and refine overall media strategy that allows for real-time tracking and in-market optimization.Identify and implement innovative media approaches that support BWH’s ownable positioning and align with business objectives.Brand Identity and Creative Oversight:Lead the internal creative services team, ensuring consistent brand identity across the BWH Hotels portfolio, loyalty programs, and 18 individual brands.Maintain brand voice, tone, and visual identity across all marketing communications.Inspire the development of creative assets rooted in data insights and industry best practices.Liaise with global teams to ensure consistent brand representation worldwide.Digital Marketing Expertise:Use data analytics to measure and optimize campaign performance, driving strategic decision-making.Stay ahead of industry trends, applying innovative digital solutions that enhance brand visibility and reach.Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure seamless integration of digital marketing efforts across all channels.Team Leadership:Manage and mentor a dynamic team, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.Build an environment that encourages professional growth and risk-taking.Experience:15+ years of experience, minimum 10 in Marketing & Communications.Proven success in leading teams and agencies while developing effective brand and content strategies.Global marketing experience is preferred.Background in agency work is a plus.Education:Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Business Administration or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Skills:Strategic thinker with strong creative problem-solving abilities.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex information into actionable insights.Proficiency in budget management and financial analysis.Strong project management skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Leadership/Knowledge/Problem Solving:Empower and lead an integrated team by fostering collaboration, driving innovation, and ensuring alignment across disciplines, and agency partners, to achieve strategic objectives and deliver exceptional results.Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop team members, creating an environment that encourages growth and willingness to take risks.Deep understanding of brand marketing principles and industry best practices.Hospitality industry knowledge is a plus, but not required.Ability to analyze complex marketing challenges and develop innovative solutions to yield measurable results.Strong aptitude for using insights to inform marketing decisions and optimize outcomes.Other Requirements:Willingness to travel as needed for global team collaboration, approximately 15% of work time.Ability to adapt and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.Strong eye for design and brand identity.You must reside in AZ and be able to work out of our Headquarters office three days per week.
