Job PurposeThis position is responsible for the planning and management of the overall marketing and PR of the hotel to achieve optimal occupancy, maximizing revenue, and meeting/exceeding hotel profit objectives.Main Responsibilities:Maintain good working relationships with local and international mediaMaintain current media lists: local and international travel, leisure, lifestyle, entertainment, business, and food editorsExecute media placements for the hotel through news releases and personal contactsDevelop business and leisure travel promotions; release to press and/or target audienceExplore valuable media trades where appropriateServe as the hotel spokesperson when appointed by the General Manager to make all official statements for the hotel to the media, especially during crisis situationsMaintain a photo/electronic library of the hotel Executive Committee and all other aspects of the hotelMaintain and update the hotel’s websiteSubmit stories/photos to the media regularly. Monitor news coverage and circulate internallyMaintain an updated hotel press kit to include news releases, Executive Committee biographies & photosEstablish PR & Communications programs that will benefit and support sales and F&B strategies and initiativesAssist the Director of Sales in developing and producing sales support materials for the hotel (newsletters, brochures, mailers, promotion materials, in-room information, guides, etc.)Assist the Food and Beverage Manager in the development and production of signage, menus, and other F&B collateral materialsContribute to the employee newsletter, announcements, and other printed materials published by the Talent & Culture departmentMonitor all printed materials to ensure adherence to corporate identity standardsArrange photography of VIP guests and maintain archivesCoordinate all special events and promotions with the aim to maximize publicityEvaluate requests for hotel donations of services/financial participation from civil, social, and charitable organizations; respond to requests, coordinate reservations and preparation of gift certificates; Serve as the hotel’s representative on major civic or community programsQualificationsMinimum 5 years of Marketing and PR management experience or at least 2 years of experience in a similar capacity with proven recordsHigh degree of professionalism with a strong understanding of global markets and business acumenExcellent reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English languageProficient in MS Excel, Word, & PowerPointCompetenciesStrong leadership and interpersonal skillsExcellent communication and customer contact skillsResults and service-oriented with an eye for detailsA team player & builderA motivator & self-starter
