seeks qualified candidates for a Marketing Specialist position. The Marketing Specialist is part of the core team of marketing specialists, writers, designers, video producers, and digital strategists who support projects and initiatives to advance the ISU Extension and Outreach mission and brand. This field-based position will serve as a marketing communications liaison to county extension staff members in approximately 27 counties in the western portion of the state ( Regions 1, 2, 6, 7, 13, 21, and 22 ).The Marketing Specialist will provide marketing communications guidance and support to county staff, leaders, and regional leaders in marketing, branding, media relations, events, and internal and external communications. They will serve as a link between supported counties and campus, building collaborative relationships and providing brand orientations and coaching to staff at all levels. Depending on the unique skills and abilities of the individual in this role, there may also be opportunities to lead or contribute to special projects within counties or for broader extension initiatives. This includes anything from media campaigns to internal events to developing resources or training to address emerging needs across the state.The successful candidate will possess strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, the ability to work as part of a creative communications team, strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.The position will be hired as a Marketing Specialist I or II level.Marketing Specialist IMinimum Qualifications:Bachelors degreePay Grade:PS806Level Guidelines:Individual contributor position with developing professional and/or technical skills working under immediate to general supervisionGrasps professional-level knowledge and concepts of field while working in a progressive learning modeWorks on problems and issues of somewhat limited scopeFollows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data for which answers are available or can be obtainedResponds to inquiries and issues, escalating to manager or higher level workers as appropriateMay lead projects of limited scope and complexityMay provide guidance to studentsMarketing Specialist IIMinimum Qualifications:Bachelors degree and 3 years of related experiencePay Grade:PS807Level Guidelines:Intermediate-level position with solid professional and/or technical skills working under general supervision to achieve goalsApplies broad, working knowledge of the principles of the field to moderately complex, difficult, and varied problems and issuesExercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action and resolve problemsResponds to a broad range of inquiries and requestsMay provide training and/or direction to lower-level staffMay lead projects of moderate scope and complexityProvides guidance to studentsThe Marketing Specialist II will have additional duties not listed in the posting.This position will require travel within the state of Iowa, with the majority of it being in the area they serve ( Regions 1, 2, 6, 7, 13, 21, and 22 ).
