The North American Development Bank (NADBank), a binational financial institution created by the U.S. and Mexican governments with authorized capital of $6 billion and current lending of almost $1.5 billion, is seeking a Publication and Translation Editor to join its team.Why NADBank?NADBank is a unique organization that both catalyzes and provides financing to support the development and implementation of environmental infrastructure projects and related actions that help preserve, protect and enhance the environment of the U.S.-Mexico border region to advance the well-being of the people of both countries.Through a culture of excellence, diversity, respect, and collaboration, the NADBank team develops cutting-edge financial products and programs to achieve its mission and plays an essential role in the discussion and resolution of binational environmental issues, which contributes to the vitality of the broader U.S.-Mexico relationship.What You’ll Do:Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Publications and Translation, the Publication and Translation Editor performs all functions related to copywriting, translating, proofreading, and copyediting documents, mainly in English but also in Spanish, producing well-written, high-quality, and professional text in both languages, as well as translations that preserve the original intent of the source documents and read fluently and naturally in the target language. The main requirement for this position is strong writing and copyediting skills in English.The Publication and Translation Editor also supports the Head of Institutional Relations & Communication in the development of public materials and communication strategies.What You Bring to the Table:The successful candidate should have the ability to perform the following duties and responsibilities:Writes, proofreads, edits, and formats documents and other materials, including reports, projects, and other proposals, fact sheets, correspondence, slide presentations, press releases, social media posts, etc.Translates documents from Spanish to English and from English to Spanish, ensuring translations accurately convey the meaning and nuances of the original text, as well as read fluently and naturally in the target language.Provides key quality control support to all areas of the Bank to ensure documents and other materials for the Board of Directors and external use are well rewritten in English and Spanish by proofreading not only for style and grammar but also for clarity, consistency, accuracy, and logic.Supports unit head and team in drafting quarterly and annual reports, among other public documents.Supports unit head and team in developing creative strategies and promotional materials for the Bank.Prepares, reviews, and updates information on the Bank’s website in both English and Spanish.Helps maintain glossaries to establish correct and consistent use of terminology.Other duties as assigned.Minimum Education and Experience:Specialization in legal and business documents originating in Mexico and the United States strongly preferred.Five years of professional translation experience with editing and publishing experience, strongly preferred.Native English speaker, with excellent writing skills in English and Spanish.Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Detail-oriented, with superior editing and proofreading skills in both English and Spanish.Ability to produce high-quality, professional publications and translations that are clear, accurate, and read naturally in both languages.Ability to work under pressure, manage heavy workloads, and meet tight deadlines.Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team and across departments.Excellent judgment and propriety with regard to sensitive and proprietary information.Excellent judgment and propriety with regard to Bank image and resources.As an International Organization governed by the governments of the U.S. and Mexico, staff must be a citizen or permanent resident (PR) of either country.The North American Development Bank is committed to providing equal opportunities in employment and promotional opportunities that embrace diversity based on race, color, gender, religion, age, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, social status, political affiliation, or nationality subject to any Bank member country.Position will remain open until filled.Seniority level
