Description
JOB PURPOSE : Responsible for providing excellent customer service in selling art materials and designing custom framing; receiving, stocking and store maintenance.
RESPONSIBILITIESPossess, acquire and maintain knowledge of artist supplies, creative materials and techniques.Receive cash, credit or debit charges, check payments and redeem gift certificates and coupons from customers for purchasing merchandise.Be aware of special sales and promotions and impart that information to the customer.Facilitate special orders and store transfers of requested items from other store locations.Handle merchandise returns of store products for customers, granting store credits or exchanges only.Create invoices for store charges.Responsible for keeping assigned work areas neat and stocked daily.Receive shipped merchandise by matching receiving work sheets with the shipped product.Stock received merchandise.Prepare merchandising displays.Support inventory management by shelf labeling and inventory countsResponsible for the transfer of the bank deposit from the store to the bank.Maintain a professional demeanor when relating to superiors, coworkers and customers.May be required to open or close store; following company procedures.Must be punctual and comply with all company policies and procedures.Complete all other duties assigned by Store Manager
Qualifications
SKILLS/COMPETENCIESPossess interpersonal skills crucial for relating to customers, coworkers and management.Demonstrate the ability to learn procedures and follow directions with confidence, cooperation and flexibility.Must be able to multi-task, is self-directed and detail-oriented.Must possess stamina.Must be computer literate and possess basic arithmetic skills.
EXPERIENCE
The successful candidate must possess excellent customer service skills; have art materials and retail background. Experience in merchandising is a plus.
