Description

Clary Sage College is seeking an evening Master Instructor in Makeup Artistry! The Makeup Artistry Program prepares students for entry-level employment in Makeup Artistry. Instructors will teach science theory and hands-on activities. Must have a valid Oklahoma Master Instructor or Facial Instructor License and a minimum of three years of experience in the field of makeup artistry or cosmetology. If you sincerely desire to help others succeed in this industry and have a passion for teaching, this is a great opportunity for you! Knowing about beauty, HD, special effects, and prosthetic techniques, plus an art background, Photoshop experience, and/or photography, is a plus.

The schedule is Mon-Thurs. 12:00pm - 10:30pm (Four 10-hour days with 3-day weekends!). Full-time evenings with great benefits. Licensed by OBPVS.

Primary Responsibilities

* Counsel students in a professional manner, offering constructive, encouraging, and timely feedback* Adhere to curriculum expectations to ensure accreditation standards are met* Perform a variety of instructional assistance, tutoring, and related support functions as needed* Keep current on trends and styles as related to Makeup Artistry* Study, evaluate, and recommend the adoption of textbooks, teaching aids, and materials to improve instruction* Assist students in understanding the basic fundamentals of various aspects of the subject material* Monitor and assist with a variety of laboratory activities for students at various levels of proficiency* Prepare, operate, maintain, and demonstrate classroom and laboratory equipment and materials* Assist students with classroom and laboratory assignments, exercises, and tests* Prepare students for state boards* Document grades and attendance, post to transcript accordingly, maintain a working knowledge of Canvas* Be familiar with the rules and regulations of the Oklahoma State Board of Cosmetology and other accrediting bodies affiliated with Clary Sage* Instruct students in safe service practices* Be familiar with current accrediting bodies and program societies i.e. ACCSC, and OSHA; adhere to OSHA standards, and maintain compliance* Evaluate student mastery of skills and competencies required by course outcomes* Provide students with individualized or small group assistance, guidance, and study strategies for the development and improvement of basic skills* Enforce consistency with the syllabus, lesson plans, and other module components, explain and clarify learning activities to students* Support student retention by reviewing individual completion of learning activities, monitoring attendance, and contacting students as necessary* Make instructor observations to promote professional improvement in the classroom* Assist with program/curriculum development as needed* Responsible for keeping inventory and purchasing supplies as needed for the program being taught* Maintain professional image, attitude, and appearance* Perform other job-related duties as assigned* Attend Graduation ceremonies and other college events as required* Other duties as assigned* Report directly to the Department Head

* Advanced industry and terminology knowledge in the program field* Ability to use training curriculum in various ways and activities to impart knowledge and skills in multiple settings, including in-person theory classroom, hands-on lab, and E-Learning* Highly developed interpersonal and emotional intelligence skills; ability to coach and support* Leadership abilities, including the ability to command a class* Strong presentation, public speaking, written and verbal communication skills* Excellent time management, organization, and resourcefulness skills* Proficient in, or quick learner of Google Workspace, Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint, and other basic campus management software* Experience in higher education, adult training, curriculum development, and program administration a plus

Education and Experience

* A valid Oklahoma Master Instructor License or Facial Instructor License is a compliance requirement* A minimum of three years of verifiable Makeup Artistry, Cosmetology, or Facialist field experience (working as a Makeup Artist) is a compliance requirement* High School Diploma or equivalent required* Technical college teaching experience a plus* Diploma or Associate degree in the field is a plus
