A Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist who in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team develops a plan of care for each therapy patient and provides skilled recreational therapy services in accordance with physician orders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Administers, scores, and interprets various testsInterviews and observes to assess aptitudes and interestsPlans effective treatment and recommends treatment objectivesAdministers treatment utilizing the recreational therapy modality with individual/groups of patients having physical, emotional and social disabilitiesEvaluates and adjusts treatments as appropriatePerforms other related duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

At least one year of current experience in Recreation Therapy preferredCertified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) per state/client requirementWater Safety and Health Fitness Instructor certifications preferredComplies with all relevant professional standards of practiceParticipation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicableCurrent CPR if applicableTB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicableCurrent Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)Must meet all federal, state and local requirementsSuccessful completion of new hire training as applicable to job siteUnderstand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirementsAbility to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is requiredComputer proficiency requiredMust be at least 18 years of age
