Local Television News Producer

KBAK/KBFX has an immediate opening for a creative Local News Television Producer! In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day production of our newscasts. This position will also work closely with the Executive Producer, Newscast Directors, and Anchors on the newscast and its content. You will determine the content and flow of newscasts, work with management and on-air staff to generate and write stories, and develop content for our website.The ideal candidate will have:Solid news judgmentBe a compelling and accurate writerBe able to multitask and manage time in order to put together an exciting and informative newscastAbility to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environmentStrong leadership and communication skillsThe ability to execute news strategies and goals in daily newscastsFlexibility and on-the-spot problem-solving abilities are a mustProficient with non-linear editing (i.e. Avid) and newsroom systems, such as iNewsExperience:Must have at least some previous news-producing experienceA journalism degree is preferredThe hourly compensation range for this role is $16.00 to $17.00. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.
