Position Overview:

Northeast Florida Association of Realtors (NEFAR) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Communications Coordinator to lead our communication efforts. This position is critical to maintaining and enhancing our association’s public image, fostering relationships with media outlets, and ensuring that our messaging is clear, consistent, and impactful. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in communications, journalism, public relations or a related field and be capable of working in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders.

This position primarily focuses on writing and media relations. The ideal candidate is someone who loves to write regardless if it's for a short blog post or a long feature in a magazine. Someone who has understanding of how news outlets operate and/or has a background in Journalism is a huge plus.

Primary Responsibilities:

Serve as the main point of contact for all media inquiries.

Maintain and develop strong relationships with local media outlets.

Write and distribute press releases on various topics, including Monthly Market Reports/Updates and other association news.

Manage the weekly Member Update Newsletter, ensuring timely and accurate content delivery.

Write/edit short and long form articles for the NEFAR website and Annual Magazine.

Collaborate with the NEFAR President and leadership team to prepare for and coordinate media interviews.

Work closely with the Marketing Coordinator to ensure content is appropriately published and distributed on social media channels.

Stay informed about industry trends and association activities to provide relevant and timely communication.

Assist the CEO and other NEFAR staff with proofreading documents before distribution or publication.

Help draft scripts for NEFAR’s major events.

Secondary Responsibilities:

Serve as the Liaison to NEFAR’s Global Business Council, providing the necessary support to the Chair/Vice-Chair for event planning and execution.

Oversee the NEFAR Awards process, including managing the nomination process, forming the awards committee, and coordinating the procurement of trophies and plaques.

Attend off-site events as needed, which may occur outside of normal working hours.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, or a related field preferred; significant experience (5+ years) in a similar role may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Fluent in English; proficiency in a second language is a plus.

Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Willingness to learn new tools and programs as needed.

Must be able to work in the office Monday through Friday, with occasional opportunities for remote work.

Willing to travel within a 25-mile radius of the main office and occasionally across the five counties NEFAR serves.

Work Environment:

This position is primarily office-based with a standard schedule of Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

Due to the nature of event planning, occasional late evenings are expected.

Flexibility in work hours, including the possibility of remote work, is available based on event schedules and logistical needs.
