Job Summary/Basic Function:

Responsible for internal and external communications (including main website content), and media relations. Determines content topics, coordinates with others to obtain information, writes, edits, designs and sends to campus community contacts. Prepares and supervises the production of press releases, announcements, brochures, photographs, newsletters, etc. Serve as the eCampus Center’s strategic communications lead through the development of compelling content and management of the Center's online presence to effectively market its mission and services. Promote awareness of Boise State's excellence in online teaching and learning.

This position may have the opportunity to work remotely where all work is performed from an alternative work location either within or outside the state of Idaho.Department Overview:

The Boise State eCampus Center is dedicated to expanding online degrees and classes beyond the traditional boundaries to meet the academic needs of students anytime and anywhere. We partner with faculty, departments and leadership to create a high-quality online learning environment for students at Boise State and around the world. This position will contribute to creating high-quality media for online courses and fully online programs.Level Scope:

Fully competent and productive professional contributor who applies acquired job skills, policies, and procedures to complete substantive assignments/projects/tasks of moderate scope and complexity. Works independently with general supervision; exercises judgment within defined guidelines and practices to determine appropriate action. May provide guidance and assistance to entry level professionals and/or support employees. Typically hold a Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years of professional experience or equivalent relevant experience.Essential Functions:Collaborate with eCampus staff to write content for multiple placements. Format, edit and review content and photos for final placement with consideration of engagement goals, best practices and user experience.Collaborate closely with a variety of internal and external stakeholders on all aspects of showcasing excellence in online education and eCampus messaging projects, including planning, procuring content, layout and publication of marketing materials, and turnaround time.Develop timelines to ensure publishing of media is completed as required and the content and delivery is appropriately planned for the target audience.Oversee messaging and content posted to various university platforms.Coordinate the sharing of excellence in online education at Boise State such as the use of Open Educational Resources in online courses, faculty research, research publication submission, faculty efforts to use high impact and inclusive practices, etc.Assist faculty with formatting publication submissions to journals according to journal standards.Assist with Pressbooks publication including style, formatting, and coordination of cover creation and accessibility, and ensuring Pressbook is submitted to catalogs for increased visibility.Coordinate the sharing of eCampus Center mission, telling the eCampus story, and eCampus services.Collaborate with eCampus Center staff to become familiar with services provided, accomplishments, goals, upcoming events, and the history of online education at Boise State. Develop a high-level understanding of what each of the different areas within eCampus Center does and how the various pieces integrate into the whole.Develop and manage content for the eCampus Center website.Maintain and enhance the eCampus website to ensure compliance with University policies and standards in order to provide necessary, up-to-date, effective, accessible, and user friendly web pages.Assess, strategize, prepare and communicate best practices for usability.Make recommendations and implement industry best practices. Research emerging technologies and tools to enhance and increase efficiencies of communications and marketing eCampus services, such as the use of AI.Manage and maintain creative content and design templates used for asset development.Maintain consistency in new content development and across web pages and documents.Oversee the development and maintenance of a clear, compelling, and consistent message across all communication channels that is focused on the eCampus Center primary audience.Provide quality assurance review for eCampus documents, publications, and presentations including ensuring clarity, correcting grammatical errors, inconsistencies, and inaccuracies.Follow university brand standards and publication formatting requirements. Apply brand and visual design best practices principles to the development of print, digital, and web assets.Act as a liaison to the Extended Studies Marketing and Communication team. Share information about current and potential projects, participate in professional development opportunities, and keep updated on best practices.May perform other duties as needed.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:Ability to code in HTMLExcellent grammar, composition, and proofreading skillsAdvanced knowledge of design and publishing concepts.Excellent organizational skills and superior attention to detail.Proficient skills in creating long-form content.Good knowledge of developing and implementing communication and marketing plans, and user experience best practices.Successfully develop and maintain positive, collaborative, respect-based relationships with co-workers, customers, and stakeholders.Communicate proactively and effectively to team members in different functional groups.Demonstrate a strong ability to manage, coordinate, and deliver on concepts and information to effectively communicate information.Must be able to work independently, make decisions and problem solve.Effectively and proactively communicate and collaborate with colleagues, supervisors, and stakeholders. Listen actively and respond appropriately to colleagues, stakeholders, and supervisor needs/requests. Understand the verbalized need for information related to daily operations or project planning and translate and communicate that into effective documentation/reporting to various stakeholders.Coordinate logistics on numerous complex projects occurring simultaneously.Proficient with using Google Suite, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and a relational database.Proficient with using Wordpress and web analytics.Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 2 years experience.Preferred Qualifications:One (1) year higher education full-time work experienceOne (1) or more years of experience creating long-form contentOne (1) or more years of experience managing website content, preferably using WordpressExperience using web analytics and reviewing usability for website improvementsExperience in developing and implementing communication content strategy to drive awareness, affinity, and engagement.Salary and Benefits:

Salary of $48,609.60/yr and is commensurate with experience.
