Seeking a strategic, decisive, amiable communicator to join our team. Softstar Shoes is a handcrafted shoe manufacturing and e-commerce business located in Philomath, Oregon. We believe in creating quality minimal footwear with an eco-friendly approach and having fun while doing it! Our workshop is in a beautiful 75-year-old eco-refurbished building with a focus on the health and well-being of our employees. Softstar has been ranked in Oregon’s Top 20 green businesses for the last consecutive 8 years. Our footwear is sold worldwide as a premier minimal footwear brand.
Your job would be to help our company grow in revenue by developing, managing and executing a variety of marketing tasks. We are looking for a candidate with skills and interests in the following areas.
Digital Content Development & Copywriting:
Development of copy, photo and video assets that build brand equity. This includes writing WordPress blog posts for SEO purposes and developing compelling digital content that gets noticed and provides value to the end user. Desired: proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator. Experience in photography and videography. Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
Website Maintenance:
Management of Magento web store including updating product listings, developing site functionality, and troubleshooting. Requires management of custom website tools including product visualizers, coupon campaigns, and add-on extensions/modules. Oversee external partnerships with developers to ensure all website tools remain updated and functioning. Requires basic HTML editing and a geeky love of web development. Desired: basic understanding of HTML and CSS. Experience using Google Analytics and Visual Basic for Excel. Past website maintenance experience is not required, but helpful.
Data Support:
Assist team with data analysis and support of various Excel tools. Develop skills in manipulating Softstar forecasting and inventory software. Liaison to IT support partner, manage software and IT budgets. Requires solid Excel skills and an interest in helping team members solve IT problems. VBA and project management skills a plus.
You would work closely with a small internal Marketing team (1 co-worker, 1 manager) to collaborate and cross-train, and have regular interaction with our complete team of 35 across production, customer service, development, and purchasing. Your initial training will include some opportunities to job shadow in different areas of the company to better understand internal processes and build team relationships.
