The

Communications Lead

will be given specific responsibilities commensurate with their abilities.

Job Title Supervised: N/A

Essential Job Duties

(Not Limited To)

Oversee the implementation of both internal and external communication strategies

Produce high-quality content to engage key stakeholders and the public and build our program recognition

Create informative content, press releases, articles, and media opportunities to share our organization’s story

Collaborate with MBNEP team to identify the public voice of the MBNEP Management Conference

Establish an MBNEP brand and style to better tell or tie together the MBNEP Management Conference story

Create style guides and talking points for all public relations, marketing, advertising, and project related communications

Coordinate the development of effective communication procedures and policies for various situations or crises

Draft press releases and talking points following organizational news

Write/edit letters, comments, and other business correspondence

Communicate with media outlets and journalists and create press kits

Develop materials to educate staff on communication practices

Coach and assist team members in improving communication skills

Perform communications research and monitor the progress of various communications strategies

Qualifications Required (Experienced and Skills)

A minimum of 5 years of communications experience, with responsibility for devising, formulating, and implementing communications/engagement strategies; knowledge of local and regional environmental issues

familiarity with a wide range of communication tools and approaches, their potential impact and suitability for an organization like the MBNEP

demonstrated success in communicating complex issues in an easily understood and engaging way to a wide variety of audiences at all levels using diverse media channels (print, radio, web, TV, etc.)

excellent written and oral communication skills

self-starter, forward thinker, and detail-oriented individual with a strong strategy, public relations, and marketing background and is a team player, with a positive attitude, who truly loves building relationships

ability to respond effectively to common inquiries or complaints from citizens, government agencies, or landowners

ability to write for publication that conforms to a prescribed style and format

ability to effectively present information to top management and public groups

proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access, Publisher, and PowerPoint

superb writing and creative editing with an eye for detail

Qualifications Required (Education)

Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field, with a post-graduate level in a relevant subject desirable

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $61,993.00 - $71,292.00 per year
