Responsibilities: The Director of Sales develops and implements the total sales and marketing strategy of the hotels to ensure that revenue and room night sales goals are achieved; revenue, sales, and marketing strategies are set, implemented, and monitored for continual revenue progression. The Director of Sales is a “hands-on” manager, actively involved daily in securing, qualifying, and following up on leads to book specific business. Manages all areas of sales according to Brand Standards to achieve a professional rapport with local businesses within the community. The Director of Sales needs to lead with exceptional sales skills, the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships, and whereas understanding of the hospitality industry. • Create and implement short and long-term marketing strategies to meet sales quarterly and annual sales targets. • Develops and communicates monthly forecasts including strategies and plans to achieve forecasted and budgeted revenues. Include information within the weekly required recap report. • Optimizes channel management strategies to drive revenue while reducing channel costs. • Complete all business cases and manage the RFP process at the hotel. • Identify additional sales opportunities to enhance revenue in partnership with other local businesses. • Drive promotions that deliver great experiences for our clients and guests. • Actively seek new business using marketing campaigns, e-commerce, site visits, and other methods. • Prioritize, document, and organize work to meet deadlines. • Train and motivate the front desk, in “everybody sells”. Communicate with special VIP, clients staying at the hotel to ensure a top experience. Communicate weekly with the front desk via email regarding upcoming special reservations, groups, and meeting space. • Generate new business while also increasing customer loyalty by cultivating long-term relations and patrons. • Evaluate market trends to determine pricing and pulling from competitors. • Prepare accurate and complete sales reports documenting including annual marketing plans. • Conduct cold calls weekly and submit them as part of weekly sales reports, 10 per week is the minimum. • Attending a minimum of one monthly local business event and market on social media to show community involvement. • Must make outside sales calls to market the hotel on a consistent weekly basis. Minimum of 8 per week. Companies visited must be included in sales reports with the date and time including the address. Collecting business cards or obtaining a contact during the visit. • Showcase events online held at the hotel with social media postings each week. • Ensure timeliness in submitting invoices and back up needed to pay from travel agencies to the General Manager. • Participate in required Manager on Duty (MOD) sifts implemented and rotated on weekends or necessary nights during peak times of the hotel. Qualifications: • High diploma or GED and a bachelor’s degree preferably in marketing or hospitality. • Minimum of 5 or more years experience in sales and marketing with some experience in sales management. • Thorough knowledge of marketing strategies and best practices for a sales department. • Proficiency in basic computer skills and software, including Microsoft Word and Excel. • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal. Compensation: $60,000 yearly
