As the studio continues to expand its influence and take on increasingly prestigious projects, they are seeking a talented Senior Designer to join their New York City team and help shape the future of their practice.RESPONSBILITIESThe Senior Designer will take a leading role in all phases of the design process, from initial concept through to final installation. You will be responsible for developing and overseeing comprehensive design packages, including detailed design development and construction document sets. Your creative skills will be put to the test as you craft innovative conceptual designs for a variety of high-profile projects, ranging from multi-million dollar residential properties to ambitious commercial developments such as boutique hotels, upscale restaurants, and mixed-use spaces. A significant part of your role will involve client interaction, presenting design concepts, and guiding clients through the decision-making process. You'll also collaborate closely with architects, contractors, and other consultants to ensure design integrity is maintained throughout the project lifecycle.As a senior member of the team, you'll oversee the development of FF&E specifications and custom pieces, ensuring they align with both the overall design vision and practical considerations such as budget and timeline. Your expertise in space planning, furniture selection & design, and finishes will be crucial, as will your ability to stay abreast of current design trends and innovations. You'll be expected to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and maintain high standards of quality under pressure. Additionally, you'll play a mentoring role, providing guidance to junior designers and contributing to the overall growth of the studio's design capabilities.SKILLS & REQUIREMENTSProfessional degree in Interior Design or Architecture8+ years of professional experience in high-end residential and hospitality designExceptional design portfolio demonstrating creativity, technical proficiency, and versatilityProficiency in industry-standard software including Adobe Creative Suite, CAD (preferably VectorWorks), SketchUp, and BluebeamStrong project management skills and experience leading design teamsExcellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts effectively to both clients and team membersIn-depth knowledge of furniture, finishes, and current design trendsProactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to design excellence
