nuuds is seeking an experienced Freelance Denim Technical Designer to join our team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in denim technical design, with a proven track record of over 10 years in the field. This role will be crucial in ensuring the technical excellence of our denim products, from garment construction to factory communication.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and manage technical packets for denim products.Oversee garment construction and fitting processes.Make pattern corrections as necessary and ensure accuracy in technical documentation.Communicate technical changes effectively to factories.Measure and prepare fit samples for fittings on models.Create and maintain accurate initial and production specifications that align with brand requirements.Demonstrate proficiency in developing and maintaining spec sheets, measurement charts, sizing algorithms, and grading.Organize and prioritize departmental workload to meet timelines.Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or a related field.Minimum of 10 years of experience in denim technical design.Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively.In-depth knowledge of denim, washing processes, and indigo materials.Proficiency in computer skills, including PLM, Illustrator, and Gerber.Expertise in fit, patterns, and garment construction.Experience communicating technical aspects with factories.Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize effectively.Preparedness to travel as required.Additional Requirements
Excellent retention of facts and familiarity with departmental systems.Demonstrated ability to adhere to department timelines and project deadlines.
