About the Role:

Dow Jones is seeking a Director, Subscriber Acquisition Marketing for the Wall Street Journal who will manage a team of acquisition marketers and havebe responsibilityle for growing and optimizing customer acquisition marketing programs aimed at driving WSJ subscription growth both domestically and internationally.

Reporting to the Senior Director, Acquisition Marketing, you will collaborate with multiple stakeholders across the organization to plan, develop, and execute growth strategies.

You will work on-site in our midtown Manhattan office 3 days each week.

You Will:

Develop and execute comprehensive acquisition marketing strategies for WSJ US and International to drive subscriber growth and meet business objectives (volume and revenue).

Manage and mentor a team of acquisition marketing professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Set clear performance goals and provide ongoing feedback and development opportunities to team members.

Identify target audiences and create tailored marketing campaigns that resonate with potential subscribers.

Utilize data analytics and insights to manage and monitor campaign performance, identify trends, and optimize marketing efforts to maximize ROI.

Spearhead monthly subscription forecasting in conjunction with Finance, Data Analytics and the wider team.

Ensure owned channels (email, on-site), product experimentation, and paid media budgets are delivering against subscription goals (volume and revenue).

Work collaboratively with Product/Tech, News, Operations, Finance and broader Marketing teams to come up with creative ways to drive subscription growth.

Identify new opportunities to grow subscriptions incrementally (i.e. emerging digital platforms, potential media partnerships, or uncovering general business efficiencies that increase revenue and profitability).

Provide post-campaign analysis — drawing on successes and failures, in order to identify tactics that are delivering on business goals.

You Have:

12+ years of relevant results-driven digital marketing experience including at least 5 years with a focus on customer/subscriber acquisition

Experience managing a team (4+)

The willingness to work in our midtown Manhattan office 3 days each week

Experience in a subscription-based business and an understanding of subscription economics

Experience A/B testing and utilizing those results to inform marketing decisions

Experience working with product teams

ROI-driven, digital-centric capabilities with the ability to anticipate media consumption trends and emerging opportunities

Hands-on experience developing and reporting on creative metrics and KPIs for business goals as well as process improvement projects

Excellent planning, problem-solving, and analytical skills with the ability to evaluate and resolve challenges

Strong initiative and self-motivation with experience taking ownership of projects as well as coming up with and pitching new ideas

Experience seeking out opportunities for collaboration with the wider team and communicating effectively across departments
