POSITION SUMMARY

The Shipping Inspector is responsible for inspecting all components of completed customer orders to ensure the shipment is accurate, defect free, complete, in good condition, and will meet our quality standards. This role requires keen attention to detail, adherence to quality standards, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.

Required Skills

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Become competent in the use of measuring devices

Become familiar with ISO methodologies and procedures

Prepare inspections reports utilizing computer software and required procedure(s)

Review all final documentation work order build package for completeness and accuracy prior to shipment

Verify, confirm and sign-off on job package paperwork and BTI standards

Conduct thorough inspections of all outbound customer orders, ensuring all orders are complete, accurate and in excellent quality condition

Perform final Inspection of product leaving the production area to ensure documentation is accurate and order count is correct

Follow detailed inspection procedures and maintain high standards of quality

Document inspection results: complete reports and logs accurately and promptly; summarize re-work and waste; input data into quality database

Inspect orders for defects, damage, and deviations from specifications

Participate in quality improvement initiatives and suggest ways to enhance inspection processes

Issue nonconformance’s; review and assist in validating corrective action plans for nonconformance issues

Collaborate with other team members to resolve quality-related issues and implement improvements

Adhere to safety protocols and quality assurance procedures at all times

Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain a clean and safe work environment

Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements

Review quality procedures and engineering requirements

Recommend adjustments to the receiving, assembly, production, and/or shipping processes

Contribute to a team environment resulting in effective communication between Quality Department and Production

Required Experience

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent

Previous experience in quality inspection or a related field preferred

Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects and deviations

Excellent communication skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Familiarity with quality control tools

Willingness to learn and adapt to changing priorities

Self-motivated and the ability to excel with minimum supervision

Computer skills: Excel, Windows, CAD software

Mathematical competency

Ability to read/understand drawings and subjects as defined in engineering documents, drawings, standards, quality requirements, etc.

Necessary Technical / Functional Skills:

Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, with strong presentation skills

1-3 years of experience, required

Must speak, read, and write the English language

Should have common computer software skills

Should have knowledge of the use of measuring devices or the ability to quickly learn

Must be capable of reading blueprints

Bilingual preferred

High level of attention to detail
