As we near completion of a new plant and prepare for commercialization, we are seeking an Upstream Technician- Media to join our team.

Summary of role and team:

The Upstream Technician- Media is responsible for supporting activities related to the end-to-end process of media harvesting, preparation, analysis, troubleshooting, and equipment maintenance and cleanup within a cultivated meat processing plant. This role is critical in ensuring the efficient and sterile production of cell culture media, a fundamental component of the cultivated meat production process. You will wear many hats and this is a great opportunity to get exposure to a range of upstream operations. As the factory scales up, you will specialize in one or more of these functions based on your skills, capabilities, and interests.

Your day-to-day

Media Harvesting:

* Operate and maintain media harvesting equipment.* Monitor media quality parameters during harvesting.* Implement aseptic techniques to prevent contamination.* Accurately record harvesting data and batch information.

Media Preparation:

* Prepare media components according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).* Mix and filter media to required specifications.* Sterilize media using appropriate methods.* Conduct quality control checks on prepared media.

Media Analysis:

* Perform routine analysis of media components and final media products.* Utilize analytical equipment and software to generate accurate results.* Interpret analytical data and identify any deviations from specifications.

Troubleshooting:

* Identify and troubleshoot issues with media harvesting, preparation, and analysis processes.* Implement corrective actions to resolve problems and prevent recurrence.* Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to address equipment malfunctions.

Equipment Maintenance:

* Perform routine maintenance on media processing equipment, including filter changes.* Follow equipment maintenance schedules and procedures.* Report any equipment malfunctions or necessary repairs.

Equipment Cleanup:

* Disassemble and clean media processing equipment according to SOPs.* Sanitize equipment to maintain a sterile environment.* Reassemble equipment and prepare for the next production cycle.

Documentation:

* Maintain accurate and detailed records of all media-related activities.* Adhere to Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and quality management system requirements.

Requirements

Education: Associate's degree or certification in a relevant field.

Previous experience in a sterile manufacturing environment preferred.

Strong understanding of aseptic techniques and quality control principles.

Proficiency in operating and maintaining laboratory equipment.

Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently.

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Physical Demands:

Ability to stand for extended periods.

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs pounds.

Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE).

Work Environment:

Controlled environment with exposure to chemicals and biological materials.
