Designer II - Stream Restoration

We bring experiences to the forefront of everything we do and to do that takes special people.Location: Preference to work out of our Raleigh office.Position PurposeDesigners will work as part of a project team to deliver a variety of stream, wetland, and buffer restoration projects for both public and private clients across the Southeast. This work will include but is not limited to geomorphic assessments, stream and wetland restoration design, permitting, construction observation, and post-construction monitoring.Essential Functions + ResponsibilitiesAssist in conducting geomorphic assessments (cross section and longitudinal profile survey, pebble counts, and BEHI analysis, etc.)Design, analysis, and permitting forstream and wetland restorationprojectsDevelop technical memos and mitigation plansDelineate drainage areas and use AutoCADor ArcGISto develop drainage area mapsComplete Hydrograph routing, Riverine Modeling, FEMA Flood Studies, CLOMR/LOMR letters, and No-Rise certificationsComplete analyses of open channel systemsWork in accordance with company standards withprojectteam from concept phase through construction administration for a variety ofprojectsAssist with annual monitoring activities of constructedprojects and preparation of annual monitoring reports.Be willing to perform field work as necessary for geomorphic assessments, construction observation, and monitoring activitiesBe able to manage time spent on assigned tasks efficiently

QualificationsFour-year bachelor's degree from an accredited program in CivilEngineering, EnvironmentalEngineering, Biological and AgriculturalEngineering, CivilEngineering Technology, or related field2- 5 years of experience in water resources and environmental design experienceExperience with AutoCAD Civil 3Dand ArcGISExperience with technical writingExcellent communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skillsSelf-starter with strong drive to better oneself,projectteam, and communityWork collaboratively with all team members on all aspects of project executionPossess strong organizational skills with an attention to detailCandidates should be prepared to provide work samples and/or take a CAD assessment
