With more than 40 years of experience forging multisector partnerships and with expertise in science, economics, technology, advocacy, and dozens of other specialties, PATH develops and scales up innovative solutions to the world's most pressing heath challenges.PATH is recruiting for our Senior Director of Marketing and Communicationswho is the lead strategist and champion for telling the story of PATH's work and impact, our innovative approach to global health, and our vision for health equity, using the full range of marketing and communications tools and channels.The Senior Director will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy that elevates the organization's global profile, supports fundraising efforts, and enhances the organization's visibility and reputation worldwide.This role requires a dynamic leader with a strong background in marketing, communications, and brand management, ideally within the nonprofit sector. They will have a passion for developing and executing multi-disciplinary campaigns to drive perception change, inspire action from key audiences, and support institutional objectives. The Senior Director will lead public relations activities and will manage relationships with media outlets to secure coverage and enhance public awareness. This role will include public speaking and crisis communications, to protect and enhance the organization's brand reputation.The Senior Director will oversee a high-performing group of marketing specialists, writers, editors, designers, web producers, and media relations and digital communications professionals, responsible for both institutional and program-based communications products, as well as PATH's brand and identity standards. This position will collaborate with programmatic staff to highlight PATH's expertise and evidence. In addition, they will work closely with PATH's President and CEO, the Executive Team, and the Chief of External Affairs, as well as other program leaders, technical experts and communications professionals across the organization.This is an extraordinary opportunity for a world-class marketing and communications leader who has a passion for service and making an impact in the world.Responsibilities:Oversee the creation and dissemination of impactful marketing and communications materials, including annual reports, newsletters, press releases, and digital content as well as manage the organization's online presence, including the website, social media platforms, and email marketing campaigns.

Develop and execute marketing strategies, including audience segmentation, campaign management, and conversion tracking, to ensure effective engagement and measurable outcomes with key audiences.

Leverage data analytics and marketing technology to craft compelling campaigns that engage key audiences throughout the engagement funnel.

Establish metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of marketing and communications efforts, providing regular reports to the Executive Team and Board of Directors.

Develop content that is both compelling and credible is a must, with a strong focus on ethical storytelling.

Advise on strategies, approaches and messages to reach a wide variety of audiences including public health officials, scientists, government decision makers, donors, philanthropists, and partners.

Play a key role supporting our business development and philanthropic outreach

Develop marketing campaigns that support donor engagement and collaborate with the Philanthropy Team to create compelling fundraising materials, events and other strategies to inspire donor support

Provide strategic direction on institutional goals at global, high-visibility events, enhancing PATH's visibility and fostering strategic partnerships.

Required Skills and ExperienceBachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism or related field plus a minimum of 15 years' experience in a series of progressively responsible marketing and communications roles.

Experience advising nonprofit clients or working in a nonprofit environment is required.

Experience leading, managing, and motivating teams required.

5+ years' experience in international marketing or communications roles preferred.

Experience in global health, international development or related fields preferred.

Ablend of nonprofit, private sector, public sector, and/or agency work highly desirable.

Must be able to travel up to 5 weeks per year.

Demonstrated experience and leadership designing and implementing comprehensive strategic communications and marketing programs to advance an organization's mission and goals.

Experience in marketing management across traditional, digital, and experience platforms.

Experience in using data to ensure the effectiveness of marketing and communications campaigns and activities.

Demonstrated understanding of brand activation and development and ability to create a culture of brand awareness.

Experience designing outreach strategies with donors and philanthropic audiences with a focus on major donors and institutional donors (foundations and government).

Demonstrated success in building, mentoring, and coaching a team of marketing and communications specialists and managers.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling and credible messages for diverse audiences.

Experience managing media relations and public speaking.

Exceptional collaboration skills, with demonstrated experience producing results in collaboration with subject matter experts or technical experts and working in matrixed management environments.

Excellent leadership, facilitation, supervisory, and management skills.

Customer/client focused approach with demonstrated ability to innovate and produce results, with a track record for translating strategic thinking into action plans and outputs.

Ability to collaborate across disciplines, cultures, departments and time zones.

Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.

For candidates based in the U.S., the annual salary range for this position is $172,000-$215,000. The final salary is based on a variety of objective factors.PATH provides a comprehensive benefit package that includes 15 vacation, 11 holiday, 2 personal and 12 sick days per year; medical and dental plans; life insurance; disability and retirement benefits.
