Become a foundational part of a respectful and diverse team as we are looking for a Principal Environment Artist to join our team.Reporting to the Senior Environment Director, the Principal Environment Artist will work with a team of designers, artists, and engineers in establishing an immersive, interactive, visually compelling, and believable game world. The Principal Environment Artist is an individual contributor role who will create world art content that will define the quality benchmarks for the worlds we develop. Through demonstration, the Principal Environment artist will inspire and mentor a cross discipline world construction team in the creation of worlds that enhance gameplay, motivate exploration, and narrativize a deep world story. Reporting to the Senior Environment Director, the Principal Environment Artist can balance maintaining performance metrics and construction best practices with gameplay and aesthetic excellence.You are fascinated by creating visually compelling worlds that simultaneously enhance gameplay while enriching the player's experience. You are continually researching and surveying the games industry to find new ways of creating high quality immersive world experiences. You are motivated to collaborate with your team in improving world construction tools and pipelines to increase efficiency. The Principal Environment Artist will combine industry-leading world art skills with the technical ability to realize beautiful and believable game worlds.Responsibilities* Create world art content including architecture, terrain, flora, geology, and materials that set the benchmark visual quality for studio products.* Collaborate with key stakeholders to push the boundaries of our world's visual quality by introducing innovative tools, techniques, and workflows that enhance immersion and emotional impact* Partner with Senior Environment Director and environment team in establishing and upholding the vision and quality standards for our game worlds. This involves ensuring that environment assets and the overall player experience remain consistent with the broader project creative goals.* Collaborate with technical stakeholders in the development of world construction tools and pipelines ensuring efficient and high-quality output.* Ensure environment content balances gameplay, aesthetics, and technical requirements within an open world construct.* Through demonstration of best practices, mentor and elevate the skills of the environment team.* Work with the Technical Art and Engineering Teams in the identification and maintenance of engine technology requirements and performance metrics needed to meet product goals.Qualifications* Minimum 10 years' experience in the games industry. 4+ years as a Principal environment artist or equivalent.Ceci ne s'applique pas au Quebec.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these locations. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the range and benefits for your specific location.

Pay offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.

BASE SALARY RANGES

* California (depending on location e.g. Los Angeles vs. Sacramento):

$170,500 - $259,300 USD Annually

* New York (depending on location e.g. Manhattan vs. Buffalo):

$167,300 - $259,300 USD Annually

* Jersey City, NJ :

$202,600 - $259,300 USD Annually

* Colorado (depending on location e.g. Denver vs. Colorado Springs):

$180,100 - $237,200 USD Annually

* Washington (depending on location e.g. Seattle vs. Spokane):

$167,300 - $238,500 USD Annually

* British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria):

$151,800 - $208,900 CAN Annually

Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. In the US, we offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity. For British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
