Product Designer II - Data Visualization

We're looking for a Product Designer with a talent for designing data visualizations. You'll be working as a designer on the Dataviz Design Team translating business needs and user insights into designs for visualizations that help users understand and troubleshoot their cloud infrastructure. You'll work within the product design team and collaborate with other designers and engineers to build custom, interactive visualizations that are central to Datadog's observability products.At Datadog, we place value in our office culture - the relationships and collaboration it builds and the creativity it brings to the table. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our Datadogs can create a work-life harmony that best fits them.What You'll Do:Work with other product designers, product managers, and engineers, to understand how our customers use visualizations across Datadog and what they need to succeedSee your design work through from start to finish: gain insights from user research, sketch ideas, build prototypes, and communicate with engineers that build the products and features that make Datadog betterBecome an expert in your product areaCommunicate both your design work and the support for your design decisions across the companyWork closely with engineering teams to understand how your designs will be builtWho You Are:You have 4+ years of experience in digital product designYou have experience building code-based prototypes with D3.js or similar visualization frameworks and knowledge of advanced design tools (e.g. Figma, or Framer)Your portfolio includes a proven track record of designing visualizations for interactive web applicationsYou are an excellent visual and written communicator, able to clearly communicate your design work and the support for your design decisionsYou understand systems thinking and component-based design patternsYou give and receive feedback well, supporting and improving the work of your colleagues as well as your ownDatadog values people from all walks of life.
