TMZ is looking for a results-driven Social Media Coordinator to help execute our social media strategy, develop social media content, and program all social media and distribution channels in an effort to build brand awareness and increase traffic flow to our websites and social media pages. The Social Media Coordinator must be knowledgeable and passionate about celebrity news and excited about keeping the conversation going 24/7 while partnering closely with internal teams to support the TMZ brand and ensuring a consistent voice across our multiple media platforms.

The Social Media Coordinator must be a self-starter who is able to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with a variety of dynamic personalities. This position is located in Los Angeles, CA.Responsibilities:Execute day-to-day management of branded profiles on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube and other social media/user generated accountsWork with the Social Media Manager and Director of Audience to develop and implement social media initiatives for all TMZ properties (website, television broadcast, live webcast, tours, and podcasts) to increase buzz and drive tune-in and trafficDevelop daily, weekly, campaign-driven and long-term social media content strategy, including distribution of video assetsWrite social media content that is consistent with the TMZ brand and incorporate SEO best practicesMonitor social media trends, tools, apps, and effective benchmarks for measuring the impact of social media techniquesEstablish regular reporting and analyses to measure social media audience growth and the effectiveness of social activity and campaigns, providing anecdotal or qualitative data that impact future strategiesBecome a brand ambassador and advocate of TMZ in social media spaces, engaging in dialogues with our audience where appropriateWork with research and analytics team to help analyze results, make strategic recommendations, and provide on-going education and best practices to management and internal teams on the effectiveness of social media campaigns in an effort to maximize resultsRequirements:The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, experience, and skill-set:2+ years of social media management for a website and/or media companyBachelor's Degree in marketing, communications, advertising or related degree is preferredIn-depth knowledge of social media for business use and technical familiarity with popular social media platforms and tools and their respective participants (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, etc.)Ability to effectively communicate information and ideas in written and verbal formatTeam player, with the confidence to take the lead and guide and educate other departments when necessary, on social media tactics and strategiesGood technical understanding with an ability to pick up new tools quicklyExcellent copywriting and communication skills; working knowledge of writing for SEOExtensive knowledge of and interest in celebrity news and gossipAbility to perform in high-pressure, fast-paced, live production environmentAbility to contribute and establish working relationships at all levels across multiple disciplinesEditorial and/or a marketing/PR background helpfulShould be thick-skinned, persuasive and have a sense of humorTMZ is an Equal Opportunity Employer.We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, gender identity, disability, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
