Tetra Tech's High Performance Buildings Division is actively seeking a
Mid-Level Mechanical Designer
with a focus on HVAC systems that will work under the supervision of the Lead Mechanical Engineer. The qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in Mechanical Design and must possess the skills required to execute project tasks, have a strong work ethic and be a collaborative team player. This person will work closely with senior-level mechanical engineering staff and assist in the development of design documents including engineering reports, calculations, and drawings.
Additional Locations : Ann Arbor, MI / Detroit, MI / Huntsville, AL / Houston, TX / Will consider other locations as well.
Your Contributions will Include :
Perform HVAC system designs for a variety of projects.Prepare, review, or modifying HVAC system layouts, load calculations, equipment selections, and energy calculations.Incorporate design changes using Revit modeling software.Coordinate mechanical equipment requirements with other disciplines.Meet project schedules and performing work within budgetary constraints.Assist in the preparation of status reports, basis-of-design descriptions, project manuals, responses to client comments, technical memoranda, and other project-related documentation.Review submittals and providing responses to Requests for Information.Conduct Field investigations and facility startup support services as needed.Required Qualifications :
Minimum 4+ years of HVAC systems drafting and design experience using latest version of Revit modeling software.Must have design experience working with project architects on industrial / commercial buildings.Possess the ability to exercise independent judgment to achieve generally stated objectives and requirements.Must be able to collaborate with others to establish timelines and budgets, as well as solve problems.Strong interpersonal skills and experience helping to maintain successful client relationships.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.A valid driver's license, and ability to travel to client offices and project sites, good driving record.Must be U.S. citizen.Preferred Qualifications :
Associate degree in computer-Aided Design / Drafting or a closely related field.Experience in building plumbing systems is a plus.
This role can be performed from a wide range of locations throughout the US. The pay range for this position is between $31.00 - $38.00 an hour; however, pay offered may vary depending on primary work location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience and internal parity. A full range of benefits are offered, to include 401K, paid time off, dental, medical, vision, disability, and life insurance options.
