Hiring Range: $58,968.00 - $78,998.40

Starting salary may be adjusted depending on experience

Qualifications

Three (3) years or more of experience in marketing, sales or communications.Experience developing a digital marketing strategy, social media content and professional web presence.Experience working with print, broadcast and online media.Experience with the principles and practices of public relations, marketing, digital and social media.Experience preparing, writing and presenting public speeches.Experience with Microsoft Office programs.Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people both internally and externally.Ability to maintain confidentiality.Excellent time management skills.Excellent organization skills with attention to details and accuracy, ability to multi-task with strong attention to detail.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure and meet deadlines.Ability to work independently or in a group setting with remote capabilities.Current State of Alabama Driver's License and the ability to obtain/maintain a City of Hoover Driver's Permit.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's Degree or higher in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Public Administration, Business Administration or related field.

Responsibilities

Manages the City's brand identity and professional visibility, ensuring strong branding elements and integrated into all communication assets.Ensures social media sites are managed with strong marketing principles.Establishes a successful City multi-media marketing and communication initiative.Create a cohesive and comprehensive approach to marketing and branding.Exercise tact, diplomacy and implement marketing strategies aimed at promoting the City of Hoover's public image between various internal and external stakeholders, such as City staff, City Council, citizens, and media outlets.Plan, organize and implement marketing strategies aimed at promoting the City.Develops and maintains cooperative and professional relationships with employees and all levels of management to include representatives from other departments and organizations. Handles all interactions with professionalism and in a confidential manner.Creates content for use in print, electronic, digital, web, and social media platforms.Effectively uses principles of written communication, graphical layout and multimedia techniques appropriate to web-based and print communication.Promotes and develops community understanding of the City of Hoover services provided by all departments and the legislative functions of the City Council.Develops professional promotional materials appropriate for representing the City on a variety of marketing formats.Oversees and /or develops graphic designs for ads, templates, event signs, website pages, social media, etc.Attends and assists Chamber of Commerce in monthly meeting and Business Expos.Arranges and conducts electronic and print media designed to disseminate information regarding tourism activities.Conducts and/or arranges speeches, exhibits, films and tours to promote community awareness and foster community relations.Prepares slides and video presentations to promote City Services to civic, service and business organizations.Writes, edits, designs and executes layouts for a camera-ready copy of community newsletters, brochures, promotional and informational materials.Performs general office duties as required to sustain the functions of the position.Assists in designing, coordinating and implementing programs and strategies to foster the growth and development in the City of Hoover.Assists with planning, creating and publication of presentation materials for economic development.Compiles and prepares reports relating to marketing activity.Coordinates and monitors the development of business expansion and retention programs with internal and external organizations.Serves as back-up to the Public Information Officer.Performs other directly related duties consistent with the role and function of the classification.
