Responsible for developing the media strategy at the local level for designated markets. Collaborates with media agency, field operations, and key internal partners to implement a customized media plan for each assigned market in order to drive sales. Serves as the marketing subject matter expert for corporate marketing and field operations on regional needs.

KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Works in partnership with external agencies to create market level plans designed to drive sales, including the selection of media channels and formats most appropriate for each of the Jack in the Box markets. Manages the local marketing fund to maximize the efforts of our media buying agency. Manages and tracks annual budgets and results using media mix modeling tools to evaluate media plans and make recommendations to optimize media spend.

Conducts thorough research at the local level to ensure our media/communications plans address and reflect local behavior, preferences and nuances of each individual market.

Serves as the liaison between the marketing department and field operations on marketing & media related issues; represents marketing and presents initiatives to business partners at field/franchisee meetings.

Partners internally with menu strategy and sales analytics to ensure proper communication and execution of regional media to make strong data-driven marketing decisions.

Manages regional sponsorships, including sports promotions, to ensure programs are efficient, ladder up to overall brand objectives, and drive sales at the market level.

Monitors media activity within a defined region to provide insightful and objective analysis.

Advises Franchise Business Consulting Director, Franchise Operators, and Company Director of Operations on marketing, business and sales opportunities that capitalize on increased sales/profits.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education - Bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferably in Advertising, Marketing, Business Administration or related field.

Experience - 5-7 years related marketing communications experience. Demonstrated experience in developing strategic media plans and experience utilizing multiple media channels. Restaurant experience required, preferably within QSR. Franchise/Regional brand experience preferred.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

Requires solid knowledge of basic to advanced advertising and marketing concepts and techniques, with exposure to TV/broadcast/internet/Hispanic media.

Demonstrates a strong understanding of overarching Media Strategy.

Excellent oral and written English communication, interpersonal, presentation, project management, and planning skills.

Requires proficient knowledge of budgeting and accounting principles and practices.

Must possess excellent organization skills with the ability to manage several project priorities simultaneously.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Requires strong self-management and the ability to operate independently.

Requires assertiveness to take initiative and make decisions of significance when needed.

Proficient knowledge of personal computers and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access).

Demonstrates integrity and ethical behavior.

Physical Requirements: Ability to speak/hear clearly in person and on the telephone. Ability to travel up to 50% of time or as business needs require. Ability to operate a computer, i.e., desktop, laptop, tablet, etc.

The range for this position is $84,800 - $120,800 and is based on an employee located at our corporate headquarters in San Diego. If the candidate is hired in a different city to work remote, we will apply a geographic pay differential based on the cost of labor in the market in which the employee resides.
