Description

The Senior Marketing Manager is responsible for overseeing marketing plans, identifying target audiences, and defining the steps to engage our audience and move through the membership lifecycle. This is a crucial role that understands our audiences, grows their engagement, and manages awareness/conversion programs. The Senior Marketing Manager will create member journey maps, develop marketing automation, and launch member centric marketing programs. This role will occupy a unique position within the organization, working with the various departments to leverage our content and offers across search, social and other channels for maximum reach and engagement. Working with the Marketing Campaign Manager, you'll create marketing campaigns to convert these leads into donors/members who support us financially or through volunteer opportunities.

The Senior Marketing Manager will be instrumental in delivering the TU message to new audiences, acquiring, and retaining supporters and improving the TU member experience. In doing so, this position helps raise funds to support a larger, more engaged TU. The position is based in Arlington, Virginia, and will allow for 75-80% work from home.

Duties and Responsibilities

Establish and own KPIs for growth and engagement for new audiences with the goal of adding more leads to the TU databaseDevelop strategies to build increased interaction with new/existing audiences using email, direct mail, paid digital and other direct marketing channels.Track, target, and grow loyal segmentsDraw actionable insights from audience dataBuild meaningful and regular reports off the data/insightsMeasure the impact of the tactics/experiments content/offersOwns and executes list growth strategy using tools such as search, social, site and other creative meansManage new member and new supporters including annual revenue budget and revenue projections throughout the yearDevelop effective messaging for new member and supporter campaigns,Experiment with product and messaging strategies that convert loyal TU followers into members, first year members into recurring members and moving members from entry level to a higher level of membershipRequirements

Bachelor's degree in marketing or related field plus at least 7 years of relevant experience.Experience creating member journey mapsStrong direct marketing skill set with a track record of proven successSuccessful marketing automation implementationStrong collaboration skills and proven track record to project successAbility to think strategically, tactically, and creatively.Ability to problem solve and refine systems to increase efficiency and productivity.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously and multi-task.A passion for conservation and/or fishing is highly desired but not requiredAbility to work independently or as a team cross departmentally.Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.Extensive knowledge of non-profit marketing best practices.Knowledge of membership databases, inventory management systems, email tools (ESP), web analytics tools (ex. Google Analytics), Google AdWords, SurveyMonkey, Skype for Business, Drupal, Host Analytics, and Microsoft Office. Experience with netFORUM database is a plus.
