This is a hybrid position, 1-2 days a week.

Job Summary:The UX designer will be responsible for conducting user tests to observe behavior both in-person and by using UX toolsets and metrics. Following testing, the UX designer will refine and tweak apps, software and websites to create a digital experience that the users will like and find easy to use.

Primary Responsibilities:Evaluating existing applications and evaluating their UX (user experience) effectivenessMeasuring the human-computer interaction (HCI) element of a designUsing online tools, such as screen readers to determine effectiveness of mediaConducting user testing of applications, software and websitesCreating and implementing interaction models, user flows, and user interface specificationsCommunicating scenarios, end-to-end experiences, interaction models, and screen designs with other members of the teamDeveloping and maintaining design wireframes and specifications of best practices to share with design team as new projects begin.Qualifications:

Technical Degree or related work experiencePortfolio of sample projects highlighting design for web based applications, mobile applications & consumer facing web sites and/or applicationsExcellent IT and programming skillsUnderstanding of current web technologies and principles such as: responsive design, front-end markup and libraries such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery and Ajax methodsUnderstanding of Content Management Systems, Web Services and APIs.Top Skills:1. 5+ years of experience (senior level): shipping products and features that solve complex problems (with a proven portfolio of work); interaction design and visual design, exhibiting a proficiency in user experience concepts, typography, layout, and responsive design2. Demonstrable articulation of product strategy and vision and all the thinkings - design/strategic/system3. Strong understanding and application of user-centered design methods and principles4. Mastery of Figma (components, variants, prototyping, branching, etc.); experience with other software is a plus
