SSOE is seeking a skilled and experienced
Telecom Designer
to join our team. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the design of state-of-the-art semiconductor, battery, and industrial systems for the world's leading high-tech companies. As a Telecom Designer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing complex telecom systems. Your experience in telecom design, along with the added advantage of our supportive culture, will ensure the successful delivery of projects and meeting our clients' expectations.
Responsibilities
Design and develop comprehensive and innovative telecom system solutions, including structured cabling systems, network infrastructure, voice and data networks, wireless systems, and other related technologies.Collaborate and work closely with the lead engineer, project managers, and other stakeholders from our multi-disciplinary design team to understand project requirements, selection of appropriate equipment and materials that meet project requirements, as well as incorporate telecom design requirement considerations into the overall design process.Prepare detailed design specifications, drawings, diagrams, and documentation, ensuring accuracy and adherence to industry standards, codes, regulations, and best practices.Utilize AutoCAD, Revit, or other relevant software tools to create precise and clear design drawings for implementation.Conduct thorough site surveys and assessments (if needed) to gather relevant data, including existing infrastructure, cable pathways, and equipment locations, to inform the design process.Collaborate with installation teams and provide technical guidance during the implementation phase, ensuring the design intent is effectively translated into the final product.Keep abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in telecom design, and integrate them into the design process to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of solutions.Qualifications
High school diploma required. An Associate or Bachelor degree-tracked in engineering is preferred.Minimum of 3 years of experience in telecom design, with a focus on structured cabling systems, network infrastructure, and related technologies.Experienced with AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software tools.Sound knowledge of telecom industry standards, codes, and best practices, including ANSI/TIA and BICSI.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex telecom design issues.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.Flexibility and adaptability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification is a plus.Salary Range: $50,000 - $100,000/year depending on location, education, experience, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, 401K retirement savings plan (with company matching), opportunities for professional development and training, generous PTO & paid holidays.
