DescriptionPosition Summary

Reporting to the Director, Communications & Events – North America, the Senior Manager will own, support and drive employee communications initiatives and programs that improve the overall effectiveness of internal communication through relevant, meaningful messaging companywide. Additionally, this role will support, as needed, external communication activities, most notably via traditional earned media or social media.

This position will have an understanding of ofi’s goals and culture, building reach, connection, and engagement primarily with ofi employees/recruits and, secondarily, other key stakeholders.

The ideal candidate for this position will be highly engaged and motivated. They should work well independently and within a highly matrixed team environment. Must have the ability to work effectively on multiple competing demands while ensuring attention to detail and timelines are met. Prioritization is key.

Position Responsibilities

Develop employee engagement programs that are relevant, creative and effective in supporting the company’s goals.Ensure ofi’s business goals are translated into well-crafted, relevant messages to ensure all employees are aligned and informed.Help plan and support Inclusion, Diversity & Equity (IDE) programming for the North American employee audience.Support Town Hall meetings and internal webinars including identifying topics and content, setup, hosting, and after-event surveys, etc.Plan, edit, and write content for a variety of internal communications mediums, such as staff intranet, digital screens, break room communications, etcEnsure internal communications are consistent with external communications.Maintain the master brand image, identity, and communication style as a whole while understanding how to position it to communicate effectively within OFI.Provide public/media relations support through researching, writing, and editing press releases; conducting outreach to media; serving as an on-the-record spokesperson, as needed.

These responsibilities are a minimal percentage of workload.Support issues management and crisis communications, as needed.Perform other duties as assigned.Position Requirements

Proven ability as a writer and to quickly understand and articulate what businesses need employees to know, feel and do is required.Ability to turn complex ideas into simple, honest and compelling communications with attention to detail is required.

Will be required to deliver succinct talking points and superb written communications for leaders.Experience conceiving, writing and editing for video is preferredMust be highly detail-oriented, organized, and analytical.Must be a self-starter who enjoys building things from the bottom up.Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, nimble environment and the capacity to quickly adapt to change are essential.Must be able to remain calm under pressure and drive progress within ambiguity. Comfortable working in a matrixed organization is a must.Strong interpersonal skills are required. Ability to work well with others, communicate effectively and confidently with senior leadership, key influencers, and cross-functional teams is required.Experience with and ability to learn Communications/Marketing Tech stack and tactics, i.e. familiarity with Canva, Photoshop, Vimeo, Hootsuite, MVIX Digital Signage and/or other communications tools.Experience managing vendor relationships and budgets effectivelyStrong project management skills and prioritization to meet deadlinesAbility to work efficiently while helping to create systems/procedures from the ground upExperience with tracking metrics to measure resultsExperience managing social media platforms and building out communication strategy.Some experience working with earned media is requiredExperience with issues management and crisis planning is preferred, but not requiredMust be able to exercise effective judgement, sensitivity and adaptability to changing needs and situations.The ability and willingness to travel as needed for the business is required. Expectation is travel will be limited to North America and less than 10% of work time per year.Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, political science, marketing, business or related field is required.8-10+ years of relevant experience is required.Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
