Graphic Designer

to join their team. The designer will produce creative solutions for advertising, subscription, brand and events marketing across Crain's award-winning portfolio of brands including Ad Age, Automotive News, Crain's Chicago, Crain's New York, Crain's Detroit, Crain's Cleveland, Polymer Group, Modern Healthcare and Pensions and Investments.

Reporting to the Design Director, the ideal candidate must be able to execute creative design solutions across channels and platforms, with eye for refined, elevated aesthetics and details.

This individual should excel at working both independently and collaboratively in a team environment. As a member of the

team, the

Graphic Designer

will work to deliver a wide variety of design projects from concept through completion of digital-heavy, creative solutions that represent our brands across the customer journey, including owned, paid, and experiential marketing channels.

This is a remote position working from one of the states listed above this ad when viewed on our career site. You should primarily be able to work from 10-6pm ET with the possibility of additional flexibility.

Responsibilities:Design net-new creative as well as versioning across channels and platforms for a varying portfolio of brands, events, awards and productsCreate or maintain brand and style guidelines to ensure consistency across each brand and deliverablePrepare design assets and files for multi-use, multi-channel, and print formatsIndependently maintain and manage projects, prioritizing to achieve deadlinesUse and improve upon existing design templatesCollaborate across teams (marketing, events, acquisition and retention, and product) to elevate standards of design solutionsBuild relationships with Editorial Design Hub to ensure consistent brand and visual experienceParticipate in brand and team weekly meetings to understand creative needs and prioritizationThink strategically while working on design solutionsStay up-to-date with trends across e-commerce, social media, graphic design, photography and video, and propose new ideas or share this insights the teamRequirements:

Bachelor's degree in graphic design, art, advertising, or related fieldExpert in Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat, with working knowledge of Microsoft OfficeMinimum of 2 years' experience working as a designer in a professional settingOnline portfolio that includes recent and relevant examples of your work across multiple platformsKnowledge of html, email, web design with an understanding of how to adapt creative across platforms (print, email, web, social, events)Experience designing ad campaigns, banner ads, marketing landing pages, as well as email campaigns, triggers and journeysUnderstanding of photography, typography and printing techniquesCreative thinker with an eye for detail and an aptitude for accuracyAbility to work independently and collaborativelyProven organizational skills and ability to manage tight, concurrent deadlinesStrong verbal and written communication skillsTeam player with collaborative spirit and ability to relate to a wide range of peopleAbility to see multiple points of view and receive and act on constructive criticismPreferences:

Advertising agency or publishing company background a plusThis position is exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.

Pay Transparency Disclosure:

The estimated salary range for this position is $60,000 to $70,000.

The final salary offering will take into account a wide range of factors, including experience, accomplishments and location. The salary range provided should not be considered as a salary limit or cap. In addition to base salary, Crain also offers competitive benefits including retirement plan savings contributions and bonus opportunities based on individual and company performance.

Environmental Demands

Physical activities will include frequent in-person or virtual interactions. For most positions, it is essential to be able to remain at a desk/computer workstation for prolonged periods, perform computer-related tasks, and create/maintain documents within filing systems. Must have close visual acuity to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing reports and information, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, or extensive reading. The typical physical requirements are light work-exerting up to 25lbs of force occasionally and/or up to 10lbs of force frequently and may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion. Some positions will have additional physical requirements, including exerting up to 50lbs of force to move and/or carry equipment, supplies, files, or other materials as the role requires.
