Role Summary

The FBI requires the on-site assistance of one Senior Interior Designer to fulfill the AESU team's design and construction requirements.

This role is 100% on-site in Quantico, VA. individuals must have active Top Secret security clearance.

Essential Functions

a. Perform as a consultant in the establishment of space and furniture design standards and criteria for construction projects. Assist in the development of the Bureau's POR.

b. Provide on-site field survey measurements and verification including documentation of space, equipment, workflow, required adjacencies, communication and organizational requirements. Provide recommendations based on observations.

c. Prepare space and stacking plans to accommodate functionality, mission and adjacency requirements.

d. Prepare blocking plans, schematic and conceptual designs, and design intent drawings in AutoCAD. Ensure drawings comply with the Bureau's Program of Requirements (POR), Campus Design Guides and Construction Standards.

e. Perform design reviews and submit technical comments in required format.

f. Ensure that drawings and specifications which are submitted to the FBI for review comply with Bureau requirements.

g. Manage design of projects throughout the project, from programming to postoccupancy. Includes building and maintaining relationships with end user, local team, subject matter experts, program managers, service providers, etc.

h. Assist with the development of furniture selection, layout, and procurement planning. RTOR # Version 3.0 Page 4

i. Review furniture proposals, documents, drawings, and specifications for accuracy and ability to meet Bureau requirements. Provide comments and/or recommendations as necessary.

j. Participate in punch list walk-throughs of newly constructed/renovated space to ensure the space is ready to accept furniture delivery and installation.

k. Perform inspection of furniture to ensure all damage/defective or missing pieces are identified and develop punch list for repair/replacement of defective items.

l. Provide support in development of workspace standards, including designing spaces that will positively affect the health, morale, and productivity of building occupants.

m. Coordinate with AESU peer colleagues, FBI Project Managers, customers and other Bureau personnel/contractors, and other project team members on projects as necessary.

n. Other similar or related services not of a decision-making nature.

o. Miscellaneous services which will require proficiency in the use of Microsoft's Word, Excel, Power Point, Project software tools and AutoCAD.

p. Assist in the development of reports, studies and presentations.

q. Exhibit professionalism, good customer service and communication skills and serve as a cooperative team player.

r. Multitask and assume multiple projects or assignments simultaneously.

s. Collaborate and assist in resolving critical and possibly controversial issues with a multi-disciplined team of architects, engineers and federal agency clients.

t. Exhibit resiliency if shifting priorities require reprioritization of workload.

u. Understand and be able to implement standards as outlined in the POR, Campus Design Guides and Construction Standards. Suggest edits or updates to these documents, as applicable.

Required Qualifications

- Top Secret security clearance is required

- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Interior Design

- Must be proficient in the most recent AutoCAD software

- Knowledge and experience in workspace design

- 10 years of experience in commercial/government office building design and construction

- 20+ years of commercial/government building design and construction is highly preferred

- Individuals with previous FBI experience is highly preferred
