As a vital member of our CSB Development team, the Grant Writer collaborates closely with the Grants Manager to advance our organization's mission by securing the private funding necessary to address homelessness in Columbus and Franklin County. You will be at the forefront of our grant writing efforts, responsible for preparing, submitting, and managing grant applications, as well as generating comprehensive reports to keep our funders informed and engaged. We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven individual with a passion for making a difference in the community. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in grant writing, development, or communications within a non-profit setting, with at least two years of relevant experience. You possess excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, compelling grant applications and reports. Your analytical mindset and keen attention to detail will ensure accuracy and quality in every submission.

You should be comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously, demonstrating strong time management and organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required, and familiarity with development databases like Raiser’s Edge is preferred. You thrive both independently and as part of a team, interacting well with diverse groups, and building strong, trusting relationships with colleagues and funders alike.

What You’ll Do:

Grant Application Management

: Lead the end-to-end process of preparing and submitting private grant applications, ensuring that all components are meticulously compiled, reviewed, and approved. You'll manage every detail from writing compelling narratives to coordinating support documentation and finalizing submissions.Grant Reporting and Compliance

: Collaborate with the Grants Manager to produce and submit timely, accurate reports that adhere to funder requirements. You'll maintain a detailed grant calendar, tracking all deadlines to ensure no opportunities are missed.Data and Systems Management

: Oversee and update donor, grant, and report submission information in Raiser’s Edge and manage the OneNote file containing crucial organizational data. You’ll also support the organization’s online presence by uploading publications and assisting with website updates.Special Projects and Additional Duties

: Embrace opportunities to contribute to other projects and tasks as needed, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to supporting the organization's evolving needs.
