Carlson Design Group is actively seeking a creative, highly talented, New Business Development (NBD) Associate to be a part of our expanding business. The NBD Associate must be a goal orientated, self-starter who will support the sales efforts to achieve aggressive growth targets established by senior managementCarlson's market focus is Mission Critical, Financial Services, Light Industrial, Defense, and Commercial.Our Design PhilosophyWe take pride in our ability to listen, to understand and to execute. Responsibilities
Our business development professionals have four primary responsibilities:Understand the company's short term and long range goals and contribute to validating and refining the objectives.Develop sales goals and ensure they are metIdentify and qualify new sales opportunitiesRepresent the company in soliciting servicesEstablish new business relationships and maintain relationships with existing clientsDay-to-day responsibilities include:Research organizations and individuals to identify new leadsScreens potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials; evaluating options; resolving internal priorities.Research the needs of target companies and identify decision makers for design firm selection and purchasingContact potential clients via email, social media or phone to establish rapport and set up meetingsAttend conferences, meetings, and industry eventsAdditionally:Prepare sales presentationsMaintain contact with clients to inform them about new developments in the company and identify new opportunitiesSupport overall corporate business development goals in identified market sectors.Develop thorough understanding of client's needs and procurement strategy.Prepare and execute business development action plans for specific targets.Ensure accuracy of information CRM (Client Relationship Management) software.Assist in the development of proposals, presentations and brochure materials.Provide advice, liaison, planning, etc. to prospective and current clients.Assist management with sales, estimating and final close.Liaison with other personnel throughout the Company to assure that the overall Carlson/Walbridge message and identity is consistent across the Enterprise.Entertain, host and coordinate social events with key clients during working hours, evenings and weekends
Qualifications
To be an effective business development associate at Carlson Design Group, an individual must have the following skills:BSc/BA in business administration, sales or relevant fieldMinimum of 3 years of related experience preferably with a design firmStrategistSocially adept with the ability to build rapportProspecting SkillsSales PlanningPresentation SkillsStrong communication and IT fluencyAttention to detailProfessionalismProven working experience as a business development manager or sales managerNegotiation skillsTime management and planning skillsProficiency in MS Office and CRM software (e.g. Salesforce)Proficiency in EnglishOther Key Attributes:Know, believe in and practice company's "Core Purpose", "Core Values", and "Corporate Vision".Have general knowledge of industry standard contracts and terms.Understand and be able to explain the various project delivery methodsBe an active member of the community and member of appropriate community organizationsHave a Positive "Can Do" Attitude focused on teamwork, communication and relentless commitment to deliver resultsExhibit a Professional appearance and demeanorHelp to Build Team SpiritTake pride in Company ProjectsContribute to continuous company improvement
