Graphic Services Production Artist I or II

Printpack Graphic Services is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a full-time position of Production Artist I or II.

This position is in Atlanta, GA, and will report to the Graphics Services Manager. The ideal candidate will have a college degree in a related field and/or at least 5-7 years of electronic assembly experience for flexographic printing.

This position's primary function involves using Adobe and Esko software to prepare supplied designer files for flexo separations by applying plant specs and following written instructions. The candidate must be able to communicate effectively, be detail oriented, demonstrate great attention to quality, and work independently and as a team. Additional skills desired are a thorough knowledge of the pre-press process as it relates to flexographic printing and proficiency in front-end graphic software. Extended gamut separations knowledge is a plus.Minimum Qualifications:5-7 years of electronic assembly experience for flexographic and digital printing and/or a college degree with pre-press or print production focus.Key Responsibilities include:Execute systematic method for electronic file preparationUnderstand and execute key digital stripping functions including trapping (vector, raster and bitmap), bump and compensation curve application, lpi, dpi, angles, dot shapes, HD screening application to optimize print reproduction on our presses.Apply Extended Gamut prepress requirements to production filesComprehension of plant graphic specifications and application to electronic artworkClearly comprehend written and verbal customer requirements and instructionsAdhere to all standard procedures and process improvements from the teamContribute to future process improvements related to workflows, automation and system optimization.Competencies include:Diagnosing / Problem solving / CollaboratingPlanning / Implementing / ExecutingReviewing / Evaluating / DocumentingLearning/ResearchingInnovationInitiativeProficiency in the following software:Adobe Creative SuiteEsko's Packedge softwareArtPro+Esko Automation Engine PilotAE viewerDeskpack plugins for illustratorPrintpack is proudly an equal-opportunity employer.
