Shockwave Medical, Inc. is a pioneer in the development and commercialization of Intravascular Lithotripsy (IVL) to treat complex calcified cardiovascular disease. Shockwave Medical aims to establish a new standard of care for medical device treatment of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease through its differentiated and proprietary local delivery of sonic pressure waves for the treatment of calcified plaque.Position Overview

This position will lead all communications initiatives, both internal and external, for Shockwave Medical, a business unit within Johnson & Johnson MedTech. This role will develop the strategy and lead the execution of communications to align external and internal audiences in our offices across the globe with Shockwave's current and forward-looking business strategy. This includes driving integration communications and change management initiatives for the next few years as Shockwave Medical integrates into Johnson & Johnson MedTech. This individual will work in close partnership with the Johnson & Johnson MedTech communications team, as well as build a multi-faceted communications team within Shockwave to support their strategic vision. This position will work closely with Shockwave Medical and Johnson & Johnson MedTech senior leadership teams and reports directly to the Vice President of Marketing at Shockwave Medical.

This position is based in Santa Clara, CA, and candidates must reside within a commutable distance. It is a hybrid role, requiring three days per week in the office and two days working remotely. However, there may be occasions when your presence is needed in the office more than three times a week.

Responsibilities :

Internal Communications

Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to identify and track internal issues or events where communication may drive business objectives, employee performance and engagementEnsure employees have access to critical information, including but not limited to overall business objectives, performance status, and integration updatesDevelop mechanism for employee feedback/engagement to guide ongoing employee communications strategyOversee strategy for employee communication channel development from a content and performance perspectiveManage process to continually measure and assess channels/programs to gain insights, increase effectiveness and optimize use of resourcesCollaborate with IT on the rollout and maintenance of Intranet, ensuring its strategy aligns with the Shockwave brandPartner with HR to organize and execute quarterly all-staff meetings and monthly manager meetingsOversee efforts to collect and apply employee feedback and program metrics to ensure effectiveness of messaging, programs, and channelsAdvise on appropriate communication and course of action to business unit and functional leadersManage agency relationships as needed to execute on the above activitiesExternal Communications

Work with senior leadership and J&J MedTech Communications to develop communications strategies on important business milestonesLead proactive and reactive issues management efforts, managing cross-functional colleagues as appropriateCollaborate with the brand strategy team to disseminate corporate communications through Shockwave-owned digital and social channels as appropriateManage agency relationships as needed to execute on the above activitiesRequirements :

Bachelor's degree with a focus on communications or marketing15+ years of experience with background in communications/public relationsAgency experience in addition to in-house corporate experience is preferredExcellent writing, editing and verbal communication skills, with exceptional organizational skillsExperience navigating change management in a matrixed organization that operates in a complex and rapidly changing, start-up environmentExperience executing internal and executive communications initiatives to drive corporate/business objectives (e.g., town halls, intranet, and email communications)Proven ability to influence senior level executives and stakeholders to make a compelling case for internal communications to secure support for programming decisions/resourcesExperience developing and executing tactical plans and leading external agenciesProven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneouslyDemonstrated analytical and quantitative skills including ability to use data and metrics to develop business cases and inform decision-makingDemonstrated ability to understand the competitive landscape, stakeholders, trends, and socio-economic and behavioral driversExperience working with internal and external partners to develop and execute initiativesAppreciates the impact of digital and social media and has successfully navigated that territory to support a business and a brandLearns new methods and technologies easily; is smart, quick, nimbleManages up, down, and across, bringing together the right resources to accomplish goals without relying on formal hierarchyProven track record of operating within tight deadlines and delivering high quality productsProactive mindset with a capability to identify and seize opportunities as they ariseAbility to work under pressure, adapts quickly, and remains flexible as circumstances dictateMarket Range:
