Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in related field of study or equivalent experience, plus 10-15 years of experience with increasing responsibility and team management.

Clearance:

US Citizens only. DoD Secret or Top Secret required but will consider highly qualified candidates willing and able to obtain the needed clearance.

Description:

The Communications Team Lead manages a small team that provides a full spectrum of correspondence and communications requirements in support of the Client. While most of the team’s work is collaborative, the Communications Team Lead is responsible for overall work quality and ensuring that the government customer’s communications needs are professionally and effectively supported. The Team Lead handles timecard review and approval and conducts annual performance evaluations.

The position requires highly experienced management that the government can trust, because so much of the work conducted involves vital documents and executive activities that directly support the leadership team and stakeholders. Required to perform the work is a blend of administrative, analytical, editorial, graphic design, and related skills, augmented by high-level communications expertise and experience. The team supports evolving requirements and improves the efficiency, collaboration, and effectiveness of communications operations.

The candidate will have an excellent command of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, and good command of Microsoft Excel. SharePoint and Graphic design expertise experience very helpful.

Responsibilities:

· Performs effective, targeted, and polished writing and editing that complies with Client standards for format, grammar, clarity, and syntax. Ensures that all official communications and support activities meet the highest standards of professionalism, transparency, and information security.

o Reviews, writes, edits, and manages correspondence and major documents that include formal memorandums, reports, brochures, PowerPoint briefings; Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); and official updates to communicate guidance to the commercial aviation industry. As assigned, occasionally reviews Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests/queries and Government Accountability Office (GAO) reports/audits.

o Conducts semi-annual or annual reviews of key program documents (in collaboration with subject matter experts and approving authorities) to ensure they are up-to-date and use current language, acronyms, program processes (e.g., a concept of operations document and an online user guide); the annual response to the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB); and, the annual

Consolidated User Guide , a comprehensive 400-plus-page reference jointly produced by stakeholders, which provides guidance to the commercial aviation industry).

· Maintains a responsive correspondence operation. Monitors four email inboxes. Assigns incoming tasks for action and ensures timeliness of responses. Performs technical reviews before submission.

· Provides maintenance and management of key program resources, including organization charts, a comprehensive acronym list, glossary, style guides, templates, and an online Document Repository, which provides links to over 1,600 key program documents. Conducts quarterly Document Repository meetings with Repository points of contact.

· Manages and/or supervises website maintenance and updates by the Communications Analyst, who serves as a site administrator and manages online resources:

o Maintains online library of briefs, templates, reference documents, and archives. Manages content and provides access to authorized personnel, shares content with internal customers.

o Collaborates with team to renovate websites, as needed. The Comms Team is currently managing the move and restructure of content to meet the customers’ needs due to a recent Client reorganization.

· Manages division’s quarterly awards process (composes schedule, emails call for nominations, collects responses, tallies initial votes, hosts Awards Board voting/selection meetings, creates/updates awards documents and websites, and provides award winner content for All Hands slides).

· Records status of tasks on online Communications Tracker.

· Provides regular status reports to government lead and Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
