Ophthalmology Clinic .Under the direction and order of the physician, the
Ophthalmic Photographer
will perform patient examinations that will include fluorescein angiograms, fundus photos, corneal topography, external ocular photos, and videotapes of ocular motility. Will assist with the development and maintenance of a computer database of patient history and diagnosis. Maintains photo records, equipment, and supply inventory.Essential Job FunctionsCommunication with Patients and Customers, adjusting to patient and customer needs, respecting one another, and maintaining an appropriate environment.Will be able to obtain images of the eye using the following imaging equipment: Zeiss OCT, Zeiss Visucam, Optovue, Heidelberg, Haag-Strait Lenstar, Optos, Slit-Lamp Camera, Pentacam, and other equipment with training when necessary.Obtains measurements of the intraocular lens with the IOL master.Assist with orders for photographic and medical supplies as needed in the imaging suite.Checks equipment and is responsible for informing the manager when equipment needs repair or preventative maintenance.Performs other duties as requested by management.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalency.Successful completion of an accredited program for Ophthalmic Technicians is required.Applicant should possess one year of satisfactory work experience under ophthalmological supervision.Must be certified by the Joint Commission on Allied Health personnel in Ophthalmology or equivalent.One year of hands-on experience with using all necessary imaging devices to care for the Ophthalmology patient population.Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) required.Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) preferred or within 2 years of employment.Position DetailsJob Type/FTE: Full-Time, 1.0 FTEShift: Day, 8 hours (9:30 AM – 6:00 PM)Unit/Department: Ophthalmic PhotographerCBA Code: Non-UnionIn this role, we anticipate that you will generally work approximately 40 hours per week. You will be scheduled to work the Day shift, 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM, and will be scheduled for on-call shifts.
