Together, we’re the next BIG thing in data.Job DescriptionWestern Digital is looking for a savvy and skilled executive communications expert to join our Corporate Marketing team. As Director, Executive Communications, you’ll be responsible for building modern, compelling, executive-level messaging platforms that help the executive leadership team connect with employees, customers, and technology industry influencers.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Partner with senior leaders to develop executive messaging platforms supporting communications strategies that span internal and external audiences.Understand business priorities, technical processes, and industry trends to shape audience-relevant communications.Create original executive-level communications content such as industry presentations and internal employee communications specific to the business, including corporate and technology narratives.Collaborate with the PR/AR teams on media and industry analyst engagements and provide messaging/story angle support throughout the engagement process.Establish trusted relationships with executive leaders and provide coaching/guidance on effective communications skills.Influence communications prioritization, sequencing, and message alignment across the business.Manage communications calendar and make strategic recommendations on opportunities.Actively contribute to the development and implementation of the Corporate Marketing team’s modern approach and help build strong relationships within the team.QualificationsREQUIRED:10-12+ years of executive communications experience supporting an EVP or above level of senior executive.Strong executive presence and the ability to build working relationships across teams.Strategic thinker with the ability to provide communications counsel across the business.Experienced in modern communications strategies and an understanding of visual storytelling. Must have experience working with outside presentation and other content development vendors and event teams. Must have experience in PR and understand how to support story angle development in conjunction with the PR team.Ability to lead and deliver concurrent projects and be flexible in the approach.Strong team player who is action-oriented and operates with a sense of urgency to complete projects.Experience managing an executive's social media presence.Thrives in a fast-paced environment and calmly adapts to change when needed.Experience managing a team of individual contributors.Ability to collaborate across Corporate Marketing and lead executive communications projects that align with corporate-level communications strategy.PREFERRED:Experience at a leading brand is a plus.SKILLS:Excellent writing skills with specific focus on executive communications content: executive blog posts, video content, departmental emails, presentations, and messaging for media/analyst engagements.
