This position is responsible for promoting the University to all students seeking higher education and encouraging those students to attend New Mexico Highlands University, contributing to the strategic enrollment management direction of NMHU. Under the broad supervision of the AVP of SEM, the Assistant Director of Marketing will be responsible for SEM and the Foundation website, social media, and marketing strategies. This includes managing the university website and departmental web pages. The position will also include SEO optimization, digital advertising, and other online marketing material.Duties and Responsibilities

Foundation website, social media, Roundup newsletter, alums and event mailings.SEM marketing, web presence, social media.University website updates, including departmental pages.SEO optimization, digital advertising, and other online marketing.Creation and design of print and electronic materials.Measurably increase the NMHU website and social media presence.Independently utilizes data to formulate decisions supporting strategies to meet marketing goals.Works with the AVP of SEM in developing, planning, implementing, and assessing marketing strategies, tactics, policies, and processes.Independently utilize inquiry and applicant data to formulate decisions supporting strategies to improve website and marketing.Develop and implement a strategic communication flow (print and e-communications) for prospective students, parents, college & career counselors, tribal education leaders, and international partners.Foster and maintain professional relationships with Native American leaders, high school administrators, independent counselors, community-based organizations, industry associations, parents of current students, and alums.Interact with internal and external partners (e.g., career services, advisors, department chairs, etc.) to support and expand marketing opportunities.Works with the AVP of SEM to ensure continuous improvement of systems, tools, and processes based on quantitative marketing and social media data.Develop and cultivate an in-depth knowledge of the university and its academic and extracurricular programs, and articulate these with accuracy, clarity, and a clear sense of professional commitment to the benefits of an NMHU education.Contributes and implements SEM strategic plan.Participates in various campus committees and state and regional professional organizations.Assist with departmental activities as needed and participate in university-wide events.Maintains regular attendance.Performs other job-related duties as assigned.Minimum Job Requirements

Master’s degree.Two (2) years of experience in marketing, website, and social media management.Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience working in higher education.Knowledge of New Mexico Highlands University and its programs.Experience working independently and with a high level of accountability.Experience working with SLATE CRM.Bilingual.Special Conditions for Eligibility

Must be willing to work some evenings and weekends, as required by the position.Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.Must be willing to operate a University vehicle.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of and ability to follow college policies and procedures.Knowledge of current technologies, word processing, database, presentation, and spreadsheet software, specifically Microsoft Office applications.Knowledge of electronic calendar systems for meetings, conferences, and travel.Knowledge of advising, tutoring, test administration, principles, practices, techniques, and theory.Knowledge of student success initiative development and implementation.Knowledge of student resources, referrals, and services.Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.Knowledge of programs/services available to university students.Knowledge of community outreach practices.Experience with dual credit populations and programs.Skill in presenting ideas and concepts orally and in writing to a diverse audience and adapting communication style to that audience.Skill in supervision of staff.Strong organizational skills and ability to organize workload to ensure deadlines are met; schedule work assignments in order of priority and date received.Network effectively to forge strong stakeholder relationships that maximize recruitment efforts and facilitate enrollment.Relate to a diverse population and maintain composure when faced with difficult situations.Skill in listening to issues, synthesizing information, and reaching sound conclusions.Work independently while contributing to a team environment.Analyze problems, identify solutions, take appropriate action, and resolve issues using independent judgment and decision-making.Ability to devise strategic initiatives.Ability to manage within budget.Collect and analyze data as part of ongoing assessment of recruitment program success and new developments in the marketplace.Manage special projects as assigned.Ability to display a keen attention to detail and produce desired results.Ability to process computer data and format and generate reports.Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures.Ability to investigate and analyze information and draw conclusions.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, other department staff, students, and the public.Ability to multi-task and organize, prioritize, and follow multiple projects and tasks through to completion with attention to detail.Physical Demands
