Senior Creative Designer, Associate Director

The Sales & Strategic Pursuits Organization shapes and drives an integrated growth strategy across EY’s largest accounts, industry sectors, solutions, and services, while demonstrating and achieving market leadership through a client centric culture.

The opportunity

The Senior Creative Designer is responsible for supporting the firm’s most high-value, strategic deals across the following scope of responsibilities:

Developing leading practice pursuit design, driving process consistency, and identifying synergies in collateral development.

Develop and communicate complex ideas, solutions, and value propositions through compelling visual, cohesive, and persuasive narratives that resonate with clients and effectively convey the team’s strategy.

Collaborate and stretch team’s thinking to integrate design elements seamlessly into proposals and materials, incorporating user-centered design principles, ensuring that the design not only is professional and visually appealing but also enhances the overall user experience and engagement approach.

Ensure design work across all design assets remains consistent with the company’s branding identity, while also tailoring visuals to resonate with the specific needs and preferences of client or industry.

Infuse current design and industry trends, design techniques, and emerging technologies to bring fresh and innovative design ideas, enhancing the overall quality and impact of presentations and materials.

Be a beacon of pursuit excellence, bringing vast knowledge, tools, and resources from across the firm and their own professional experience to proactively deliver creative design assets progressing the pursuit towards a winning outcome.

Focus on the Quality and Risk Management of their work and resource management of opportunities by leveraging their pool of offshore designers.

Responsible for the performance and resource management of a team of pursuit designers (both onshore and offshore) and for elevating team building, mentorship and inspire team members on their work and performance.

Conceive and deliver strategic design initiatives that have a significant impact on the firm’s ability to win more, win bigger and win better.

Your Key Responsibilities

Increase the firm’s ability to win more through the upskilling of design team members &/or the implementation of strategic design support processes, tools and enablers.

Oversee the strategy, methodology, and deployment plans for pursuit designs in conjunction with the Deal Manager and Deal Leader.

Cascade best practices, process consistency and synergies across the entire Center of Excellence (COE).

Instill Exceptional Client Service (ECS) principles into the end-to-end COE process.

Translate firm-wide and BD strategic priorities within COE pursuit design function.

Develop the visual design strategy that supports our win strategy and the client’s requirements using a variety of design tools and software.

Contribute to overall win strategy by developing innovative visuals, presentations and graphics which resonate with the client’s business issues, culture, industry, and market position.

Conduct client, service line/solution and sector research to develop a creative strategy that is tailored for the pursuits.

Produces design comp based on above research to give the team optionality in the creative strategy.

Attends and contributes to pursuit strategy calls throughout the pursuit process to enhance knowledge of client and offering to further tailor the creative strategy and to proactively offer ideas for design solutions and innovation.

Pitches and influences the pursuit team on creative strategy, including determining any budgetary needs and obtaining approval as applicable/necessary.

To qualify for the role, you must have

15+ years of Graphic Design/Communications / Pursuits Strategy experience.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

Previous experience of managing teams/communities.

Cross-border experience gained working in a large global organization.

Strong understanding of Deal Activation or new business pitches.

Proven ability to influence and build collaborative relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

Must have deep experience in graphic design with exposure to brand marketing.

Must maintain superior knowledge of graphics software tools, proficiency in firm’s standard operating software (MS Office: Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Excel) and design software such as Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Adobe Experience Manager, web, video, etc.

Excellent project management and organizational skills with high attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deliverables simultaneously.

Strong communication (written and verbal), team building and interpersonal skills.

Self-motivated, resourceful, and able to work from own initiative with limited supervision.

Demonstrate executive presence: establishes credibility quickly; commands attention and respect; demonstrates confidence and deals comfortably with clients and other stakeholders.

Knowledge of EY’s products and services is helpful and will be essential upon assumption of the role.

Must be agile in a high-paced environment and produce quality work in high-pressure situations.

Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.

Maintain capabilities for troubleshooting technical issues in graphic files.

Coaches and supports development of offshore and onshore Designers.

Performance management of Deal Activation Design team members at the Area Executive layer.

What We Offer

We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $127,300 to $245,000. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $152,700 to $278,400. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances. You’ll also be granted time off for designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being.
