They combine strong writing skills, technical understanding, and strategic thinking to develop documentation that meets the diverse needs of our developer community and end-users. Our technical writing team collaborates closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure that our documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with our overall product strategy. They are instrumental in enhancing user experience, reducing support costs, and driving the adoption of our technologies through high-quality documentation.What we would like from youAs a Technical Writer at BLEN, you will drive our documentation strategy and be responsible for creating and maintaining high-quality technical content. Your responsibilities will include:Drive our documentation strategy, starting with the information architecture and extending to identifying the most crucial contentDefine documentation standards, process improvements, and champion their adoption across the organizationCollaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure documentation is comprehensive and strategically aligned to meet the diverse needs of our developer communityWrite and edit clear, concise, and accurate technical documentation for developers, including API references, user guides, and tutorialsLead documentation projects, managing timelines and deliverablesProduce quality documentation within aggressive deadlinesWork with emerging technologies and multiple products or domainsDevelop content for an international audience, ensuring clarity and cultural sensitivityImplement and maintain documentation in various formats, including HTML, DITA, and MarkdownUtilize authoring systems and tools to streamline the documentation processProofread and edit technical content with high attention to detailCollaborate with subject matter experts to gather and validate technical informationMaintain documentation throughout product lifecycles, ensuring it remains current and relevantGather and analyze user feedback to continually improve documentation quality and usabilityStay updated with industry trends in technical writing and documentation best practicesYour main goal will be to ensure our technical documentation effectively supports our developer community and end-users, enhancing their understanding and adoption of our technologies through clear, comprehensive, and strategically aligned content.Basic qualificationsEssential Requirements6-9 years' experience writing and editing developer documentationProven ability to lead documentation projectsExcellent developmental editing, writing, and verbal communication skillsAbility to produce quality documentation with aggressive deadlinesProven ability to work well with people and on a teamExperience writing for an international audienceProficiency in both spoken and written EnglishExperience with HTML/CSS/Markdown language and git repositoriesBasic understanding of JavaScript and Web concepts, with ability to test small snippets of codeFamiliarity with modern content guidelines, documentation release processes, and management toolsPreferred Skills and ExperienceAdvanced degree in Technical Communication or related fieldExperience with DITA and other structured authoring methodologiesProficiency with authoring systems like Adobe Technical Communication Suite, oXygen, or XMetaLExperience detailing APIs and Web technologiesFamiliarity with agile development methodologiesKnowledge of accessibility standards for documentationExperience with documentation localization processesCertifications in technical writing or related fieldsRequirementMust be a US Citizen or legal resident and able to work domesticallyMust be able to attain low-level security clearancePerksWork from anywhere.Competitive pay.A contribution to your health benefit.The chance to work on high-visibility projects and make a significant impact.Get to know usWe are a small, creative and highly technical team.Our heroes are the scrappy folks that dare to dream and do great things.
