Who we are looking for...We are seeking a Senior CAD Designer. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of 2D and 3D AutoCAD software and sheet set production procedures, along with demonstrated knowledge of Civil and Process design capabilities as it relates to engineering drawing development in the area of water and wastewater facilities design and associated infrastructure, including but not limited to water/wastewater treatment plant process, pressure pipelines, gravity pipelines, and lift stations. Job duties will also include the coordination of drawing production activities between all disciplines at the project level. The following skills will be required for this position:Assist with the design of complex layouts and drawings from general written or verbal specifications from the project team.Work with the project team to investigate and resolve problems with existing designs and make corrections to the drawings as requested by the senior staff.Create preliminary and detailed design figures and drawings for water/wastewater projects.Prepare plan, section, and detail design drawings for water/wastewater treatment facilities.Prepare plan and profile design drawings for any type of water, wastewater, or reclaimed systems.Adhere to discipline-specific CAD standards.Understand and utilize all aspects of company-defined Design Guidelines, and use and recognize technical symbols and abbreviations, vendor catalogs and equipment, and process equipment and piping compatibility as it relates to specific designs.Ensure that accuracy, quality, completeness and adherence to the schedule and budget is maintained.Maintain organized work area and produce drawings on schedule and with the highest quality and clarity.Work closely with engineering staff regarding design concepts, suggestion of design options utilizing previous design & project experience and knowledge of design principles, vendor catalogs and equipment usage/configuration.Distribute and coordinate drawing sheets for subcontract disciplines on all projects.Understand life cycle of the project and manage personal workload on projects from start to finish but may assist as backup to other teams as needed.Perform related work assignments per supervisor direction.RequirementsA minimum of 10 years’ experience using AutoCAD to prepare design drawings (expert level).A minimum of 5 years’ experience performing 3D solid modeling to create process designs in AutoCAD or other vertical software (expert level).Civil 3D experience required.ArcGIS experience preferred.Associate or higher degree in computer-aided drafting or civil engineering.Possess good verbal, analytical, writing skills, and attention to detail.Proven ability to read and understand both 2D and 3D water/wastewater drawings.Must work well in a project team environment, as well as have the capacity to conduct work with minimal supervision and oversight.Effective communication skills and ability to interface with project teams.Time management: the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.What you'll need to be successful...Success in this job relies on your time management skills, organization, and positive attitude.
