Weekly Work Hours40Compensation RangeStaff Range N06Salary Minimum$65,000.00 AnnuallyFLSAUnited States of America (Exempt)Position TypeStaffPosition SummaryAssists the Interior Designer in the preparation and maintenance of drawings, building standards, furniture selection and interior project implementation across all campuses and buildings within Dallas College.Required Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesKnowledge and understanding of interior design concepts and facilities management/activities, practices and procedures.Demonstrated experience in fiscal management, resource allocation and personnel supervision.Capable of assisting with the planning and design of interior space layouts, component selections and project management support.Basic knowledge of the concepts, practices and procedures within the interior design field.Ability to prepare and update College drawings utilizing AutoCAD and other Building Information Modeling (BIM) software packages.Ability to create positive working relationships within Dallas College as well as external business partners or organizations associated with the project(s) to ensure client needs are met in a timely manner and on budget.Extensive knowledge of material specifications and applications.Must understand and comply with the College's policies and procedures as well as state and federal rules and regulations when making decisions.Develops techniques to organize workflow to ensure quality, precision and timeliness of projects.Stays current with the professional and technical aspects of the job.Demonstrated time management skills and the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.Strong presentation, oral and written communication skills to be able represent Dallas College and interact effectively with all individuals.Ability to provide exemplary customer service.Key ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the preparation of plans for interior renovations; maintenance and modification of the College's existing drawing library; maintenance of the College's Design and Construction Standards; and selection and procurement of furniture per the College's furniture standards.Aides the Interior Designer related to space planning, preparation of finish boards, site surveys, specification preparation and project budget and schedule management.Conducts research on manufacturing processes, product design, performance characteristics and expected durability of interior design components.Provides product recommendations for inclusion in Design and Construction Standards.May attend project design and construction meetings.Monitors project implementation to ensure compliance with design intent and contract documents.Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with administrators, faculty and outside contractors and consultants.Works independently and within a team environment.Ensures projects are aligned with the overall mission of the Facilities Management Department and the vision of Dallas College.Maintains high ethical standards.Must have excellent interpersonal, communication and time management skills.Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to change easily.Completes required Dallas College Professional Development training hours per academic year.Performs other duties as assigned.Physical RequirementsNormal physical job functions performed within a standard office environment.
