Job Description - Senior Communications Manager (240007GU)Departmental Mission Statement:

The Executive Office of the Trial Court is led by the Chief Justice of the Trial Court and the Court Administrator and oversees judicial and court operations, including the Office of Court Management. The Executive Office works collaboratively with the Trial Court’s seven Departments and Commissioners of Probation and Jury to develop and implement policies and initiatives that promote an environment of continuous improvement and ensure the most effective use of resources to support and enhance the delivery of justice in the Trial Court. The Executive Office also oversees the development and implementation of strategic planning for the Trial Court.Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Director of Communications, the Senior Communications Manager develops and implements internal and external communications, plans strategies, programs, messages, and materials for the Trial Court. The Senior Communications Manager works closely with the Director of Communications, members of the Communications team, and with court leaders and operations and planning teams to support the court’s strategic priorities and organizational goals. The Senior Manager drafts internal and external communications including but not limited to internal articles, announcements and advisories, website content, press releases, presentations, and annual reports. The Senior Communications Manager is an accomplished communications professional who conveys messages in a consistent and clear way in various Trial Court publications and platforms and presents complex concepts through compelling messages that resonate with diverse audiences. The Senior Communications Manager plays a critical role in advancing the Trial Court’s mission of access to justice with dignity and speed.Supervision Received:

Receives direction and supervision from the Director of Communications.Duties:Collaborates with the Director of Communications and the Communications team to develop and execute communications strategies and implement short- and long-term plans and campaigns that support key court initiatives and activities.Develops and implements editorial schedules and content for various communications vehicles, including the annual report, newsletter, internal website, announcements, court leadership messages, videos, and presentations.Works with court leadership and department heads to provide communications support on presentations, speeches, scripts, talking points, briefs, and more.Creates dynamic internal and external website content to keep communications relevant, accessible, and fresh, ensuring a positive user experience.Promotes Trial Court news, programs, projects, and events to internal and external stakeholders in coordination with court departments and the Public Information Office.Participates in committees and community outreach efforts to support programs that advance access to justice and the Trial Court’s mission.Manages digital content creation and publication across social media channels.Evaluates and reports on effectiveness of communications using analytic research and quantitative feedback, including social media and digital campaign metrics.Collaborates and coordinates with the Supreme Judicial Court Public Information Officer and Probation Communications Director.Supports internal and external events.Mentors and manages communications team members.Performs additional duties as assigned.Job Competencies:

These are the minimum requirements necessary to apply for the position of Senior Communications ManagerBachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; an advanced degree in a related field is preferred.Six (6) years of demonstrated professional experience in communications, program management, public or business administration, or a related field.Excellent research, writing, and editing skills, including the ability to translate complex ideas into accessible communications for various audiences.Strong analytical and project management skills.Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with proven experience working with diverse stakeholder groups.Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.Ability to supervise, direct, and evaluate staff, as appropriate.Multi-media and technology proficiency.Excellent judgment, news sense and attention to detail; ability to work under pressure.Ability to travel as needed to meetings and events across the state.Employment with the Trial Court is contingent upon passage of a criminal record check.Official Title:
