Under general supervision, the Marketing & Business Development Specialist assists with the development and implementation of service line strategic marketing plans and initiatives, including writing, editing and/or acquiring content for marketing collateral, company websites, and social media channels. The specialist will assist in managing marketing communication projects including website, print, internal communications, social media, special events and other advertising activities; and other duties as assigned.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEBachelor’s degree with a concentration in Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing, Business or a related field is required1-2 years of relevant, full-time marketing experience preferably in healthcare or nonprofitExperience managing a marketing budget preferredExperience with SEO, social media platforms, email marketing platforms, survey/polls platforms and analytics reportingSome travel may be requiredESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSAssists with marketing strategy development and implementation (i.e., site visits to possible referring providers) to reach target audiences through appropriate channels.Meets with key stakeholders to determine departmental and individual marketing needs and goals.Manages company’s social media channels, including creation of dynamic content, development of online partnerships, engagement with consumers, and increasing brand awareness.Assists with company’s reputation management (online reviews, patient emails, social media feedback, blast emails).Analyzes marketing data, creates reports and presentations, identifies opportunities to help shape future marketing strategies, and develop opportunities for future growth of service line.Organizes and manages company and service line events and sponsorships, as well as photo and video shoots.Works collaboratively with the Department of Surgery, UMMC, UMMS and UM SOM Marketing, Media, Web and Creative teams.Develops and manages content for company websites, patient communications, internal communications and newsletters.Qualifications EducationPreferredBachelorsBehaviorsPreferredTeam Player : Works well as a member of a groupLeader : Inspires teammates to follow themEnthusiastic : Shows intense and eager enjoyment and interestDetail Oriented : Capable of carrying out a given task with all details necessary to get the task done wellMotivationsPreferredSelf-Starter : Inspired to perform without outside helpGoal Completion : Inspired to perform well by the completion of tasksAbility to Make an Impact : Inspired to perform well by the ability to contribute to the success of a project or the organization
